Golf North Hills, a public 9 hole course designed by Booney Harper, and built by Jerry B. Craft, is located 8 miles north of Jonesboro on Hwy 141.

There is good news and bads news: The good news is we do not have cart paths at Golf North Hills so all carts use the fairways and you can drive directly to your ball. The bad news is that we do not have cart paths so this requires the course be closed to carts in certain wet conditions. These conditions are posted on our page when the weather situation requires regardless of the season. PLAYING CONDITIONS during pre- and post peak season, November through March:

Our greens have Tifdwarf and Tifgreen 328 putting surfaces. These grasses are sensitive to frost so our daily opening is delayed for walkers and carts until the outside temperature reaches 45 degrees during the late fall through early spring seasons. These delayed openings are also announced on our page as the weather situation requires regardless of the season. Dear folks,

One year ago yesterday and today by the calendar, Golf North Hills clubhouse burned to the ground.

We have survived and are thriving in this summer fall forgot to move out of the way.

This is a picture of number 3 fairway that I thought would never see grass this lush.

It is hot out here but there is a breeze from the North west mitigating the intensity . . .and the course has been empty all day.

More shall be revealed.

Dear folks,

Effective immediately, this is the new entrance to the proshop at Golf North Hills.

With record breaking heat coming, it is time to abandon the temporary building for a more permanent structure with better air conditioning, even if there are no doors.

This is, of course, unconventional, but I am not one to stand for convention when situations call for drastic measures. Besides that, everyone will get a look at what awaits them as we finish out the building in days to come.

Dear folks,

At long last we have received a healthy rain and are closed today due to wet conditions.

Everyone 30 years old and older remembers where they were on this day 25 years ago. I was at Memphis Theological Seminary in my United Methodist History and Doctrine class, working on my Master of Divinity degree.

Let us remember the sacrifices of the first responders and families that lost loved ones and those who continue to suffer from the effects of that disaster. Let us also remember the feeling of unity we had in this shared tragedy.

Dear folks,

It's hot outside!
How hot is it?
It is so hot that its too hot to make hot jokes out of it.

O well. I'm sure not gonna make it in showbiz.

The course has been looking unkempt lately due to 2 of our mowers being down. We did the best we could under the circumstances.

The fairway mower I acquired in early July was replaced by a similar model. I had wanted a hybrid but having experienced massive irony (I wanted a hybrid with electric motors thinking it would not leak as much hydraulic fluid, but guess what happened? Yeah, . . Like a sieve) I relented and accepted a Toro 5510 with a Kubota diesel engine that works perfectly fine.

Tomorrow, a Toro technician will arrive and hopefully will repair the back up greens mower. More shall be revealed.

The heat is revealing the weaknesses in my water system. I will be making adjustments over the next few days to counter the dryness.

Four weeks ago, we fertilized the fairways and began to water and mow them faithfully. The bare spots have grass creeping in and will soon be covered. At times they look amazing.

I am hoping you will come see the progress on the course and the clubhouse, soon. Cooler weather is coming so make your tee times early.
