The Shoal Creek gauge shows the waterway up and moving, and the view from the campsite confirms that! The USGS had projected a crest of approximately this level in another 12ish hours. Stay safe and wait for the drop before you think about hitting the water. Know your skill levels and wear your PFD!

Memorial weekend will be here soon. If you are planning a trip on Shoal Creek, and would like shuttle help we got you!
We prefer to shuttle at the beginning of your trip so everyone has a definite time. We can help on the back haul typically, but make no guarantees.

Unfortunately, we have decided to postpone our first kayak poker run of the season. The forecast isn’t looking favorable for Saturday, and our recent rise in water made some work to make it safer. If the weatherman is wrong the shenanigans can still happen in a group style float down the same section (Tipton Ford to Rivers Bend Family Resort)!

Rivers Bend Family Resort is looking colorful today! Their kayak Easter egg hunt is happening soon!

Who’s ready to get their 2026 season started?
Shoal Creek has 40+ miles of navigable water flowing through Newton County, Missouri.
Our guided services are a great way to experience a new section with the peace of mind someone knows the way. We also have some great locations to overnight camp for multi-day adventures!
Of course we will be there to help you do shuttles this season as well!

2025 has been another great season! We made memories and friends on Shoal Creek. This year started Missouri Stream Teams #6959 to help facilitate our stewardship to this beautiful waterway. We had some awesome volunteers help in every maintenance cut or trash grab. Some of our maintenance trips with saws were all day, and others were because a new tree had fallen. Those work floats were done so the fun could happen. We hosted 3 kayak poker runs over the course of the season, and the trash grabs incorporated hauled in some treasures. As the season progressed it wasn’t bags of trash that rolled in it was tires and toilets! People like to hear numbers so here’s the tally.
Road signs 4
T posts 15
Tires 37
Tires with wheel 7
Toliets 3
Shopping carts 4
There was a full bale of red bags used (many reused) of all types of other things that shouldn’t be in the water. A majority of that “trash” was sorted out into the recycling barrels of Rivers Bend Family Resort.
Thank you to all of you who allowed us to help you enjoy our backyard this year! We look forward to 2026 and continuing our adventures on Shoal Creek.
