Some hunters just make you smile from the very first phone call, and Bob and Roger were definitely two of those guys!

These two wonderful men made the LONG drive all the way down from the northeastern states to hunt with us here in Texas, and we sure are glad they did!

Bob harvested a beautiful Oryx, and Roger took a great meat Aoudad. Both had a great hunt, and they were an absolute joy to have at the ranch.

Sometimes you just have a feeling from that first conversation that you’re going to enjoy having someone at the ranch, and these two were every bit as great as we expected!

Bob and Roger, thank you for making the trek down to Texas and spending time with us at Escondido Ranch. We enjoyed having y’all and hope to see you again down the road!

Youngsters in Training!

It’s a battle of the up-and-comers at Escondido Ranch

First up, two young Nyala testing their strength and practicing those sparring skills… then the young Roan antelope step in for their own training session!

They may not be the biggest animals on the ranch yet, but they’re already learning the moves they’ll need when they grow into mature males.

Tonight I had over 30 animals in the food plot at tree. The largest was this monster non typical axis buck in velvet! This spotted fallow was the only one not feeding before the cold front.
