YES: A bipartisan Wisconsin elections board has referred Elon Musk for possible criminal charges over his $1 million voter giveaways.

Musk handed out massive $1 million checks to Wisconsin voters — money tied to signing a petition against "activist judges" and showing up to vote.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission voted 5-1 to refer the matter to prosecutors, finding probable cause that Musk violated state law by offering money "in order to induce" people to vote.

He wasn't only handing out checks. Musk and the groups he supported poured at least $20 million into backing Republican candidate Brad Schimel in Wisconsin's 2025 state Supreme Court race. It still didn't work — Schimel lost by 10 points to Democratic-backed Susan Crawford, in a race that topped $100 million, making it the most expensive judicial election in U.S. history.

This wasn’t his first time — Musk spent at least $288 million helping elect Trump and Republicans in 2024 alone.

The Brown County DA now has 40 days to decide whether to bring charges. A separate civil lawsuit over the same giveaways is still pending.

This looked illegal from the moment it happened — it’s about time the courts are finally catching up.

YES: Hunter Biden has won $1.7 million in his defamation lawsuit against Patrick Byrne — the Trump-aligned election denier who spent years accusing him of engineering an $800 million bribery scheme involving Iran.

Byrne alleged that Hunter Biden tried to persuade his father to release $8 billion in frozen Iranian assets in exchange for a bribe while Joe Biden was president. It was a shocking, highly detailed, treason-adjacent accusation.

He encouraged hundreds of thousands of followers to share the story — and they did.

MAGA seized on the claim and repeated it again and again.

A federal judge ruled it was entirely false.

Byrne told the court he believed an Iranian official had given him the information. But according to the judge, Byrne never established that the official had direct contact with Hunter Biden, never produced a single piece of documentary evidence, and the court found "ample evidence" that the entire covert-meeting narrative had been fabricated.

Then Byrne dismissed his own trial lawyer and failed to appear for his October trial. The judge held that against him as well, entering a default judgment over Byrne's "repeated, intentional disobedience of court orders."

The outcome: $1.7 million in punitive damages, along with roughly $35,000 in court sanctions.

Hunter Biden's attorney summed it up this way: Byrne accused his client of treason, and a judge found "every one of those claims was fabricated."

This is what happens when you spend years spreading a story with no evidence to support it. Eventually, someone has to answer for it.
