I know it’s winter here but an Anchorage co-ed team is looking for two ladies to go to wolds in Vegas December 4-6. They are playing E division. I am going on a Colorado team and playing with my sisters team. I can help with housing arrangements if needed. They are looking for infield and a catcher. Let me know if anyone has questions or is interested

Any women interested in playing Rainball? Putting a Sitka/Juneau team together - we are fun and competitive. Message me! ❤️🥎
What days and times will someone with stickers be at the fields this coming week??? I was out of town when they had the preseason stickerings and wasn't able to get an answer last week about availability. Would like to be able to get it done before this Friday's games. Any guidance on this would be appreciated.
{Reposting from the Juneau Softball Page} Hoping and wishing like the rest of the world that everything eases up and we get to play. That said, I'm a bit new to Juneau and a player without a team! If anybody's looking for an above novice/below professional, versatile, singles/doubles hitting infielder who can run, hit me up! Would love to play as I'll likely be umping this season as well. If you know of anywhere else I should post or someone I should reach out to, lmk. Thanks and be safe!
Just a reminder that registration for spring coed softball will be closing next Friday the 27th. So get your teams signed up. Also to the teams that are registered please go in and add your minimum 4/4 players so we can get you classified. If you have no players listed we are not able to get you classified. Any questions or need help please contact JSA. Thanks!

Operating as usual

[10/07/20]   JSA Board of Directors would like to take this time to honor Carl Lewis and send condolences to his family. Carl passed October 4, 2020.
We give gratitude to Carl for his decades of play, umpiring and taking time to serve on the JSA Board. Carl managed his coed team to Rainball Championship in 1992 and was one of 5 family members to play on ABC Center’s coed team for several years.
Carl sat on the JSA Board as a Director during the late 90’s and early ‘00’s. Carl helped setup the early games for tournament play @ Savikko Park, always poking Traci for being a bit too spunky in the 7am hour. He helped make policy, rarely missing a meeting or the need to volunteer.
Carl will be remembered for his fair umpiring. He was a sound umpire in his calls and always let you rib him for unfavorable calls before moving on to the next pitch. He worked beyond the call of duty.
Carl and Lee have been a constant at the ballfields for 40 years. We will miss him dearly, thank the family for sharing him with us and send him off on a Swing and a Prayer.

[08/07/20]   As you may already be aware, the Sitka Softball Association voted yesterday to cancel the 2020 Mudball tournament this year. We send our support, as we know this was not an easy decision to make.
We encourage members to respect the difficult decision made by our sister league and look forward to picking up the tradition of Mudball stronger than ever next year. 🥎❤️

Attached is the final schedule for Rainball 2020. We are very excited to see everyone out there next week. It will be a very busy weekend!

We have also attached our 2020 Mitigation Plan. Please make sure you read and fully understand this document. The requirements and recommendations within the mitigation plan will help us have a fun and SAFE tournament as long as they are followed.

Also attached is our 2020 New and Updated Rules Summary page. There are a few big changes this year so please make sure to take a look at the document. The complete 2020 JSA Rulebook can be found on our website at www.juneausfotball.com.

We will be running the concessions stand throughout the tournament. JSA will be marking the ground for the line to concessions to encourage social distancing. We are strongly encouraging that all transactions at concessions be done with a credit/debit card if at all possible.

The bleachers on all of the fields have been marked to help with social distancing of spectators. The markings are the places where you would sit.

Please make sure to contact us with any questions or concerns regarding the tournament.

[06/12/20]   Need your bats stickered?!
Jack will be in the TMHS parking lot this evening from 5:30 to 6:30. Look for a red SUV.

All bats must be stickered prior to use in a game.
If your bat has been stickered from a prior year, it does not require a new sticker.

Here is the How-to for signing the waiver and making your payment:
You must have your liability\health waiver box checked to take the field.

[06/05/20]   Sorry for short notice, Jack will be at TMHS parking lot tonight, June 5th and next Friday June 11th to do bat stickers if needed, he will be there from 5:30-6:30 in a red SUV. Remember you will need to have all your bats with JDOA stickers or you can not use them. Thank you and if you have any question please reach out to the board.

Per CBJ ordinance, dogs are temporarily banned from the Dimond Park fields. We appreciate your cooperation during this time.

To maintain health and safety standards for animals and humans, Juneau Parks & Recreation has temporarily closed the following areas to dogs due to excessive dog waste, in accordance with CBJ code (bit.ly/3cjpHF7):

• Dimond Park
• Melvin Park field #2
• The small area of land located at the top of Gold Street, adjacent to the small parking lot

Parks & Recreation will continue to close other areas if the problem persists. Dog waste does not biodegrade like wild animal waste; it sticks around a long time. Dog waste also contains harmful bacteria, pollutes groundwater, and has an unpleasant odor.

Help keep parks and trails free of poop by picking up your pet's waste and disposing of it properly. Please bring your own bags on dog outings, though bags are also provided at most CBJ trailheads and parks if you forget.

We have received the approval from CBJ to begin our 2020 Regular Season. JSA is ready to hit the ground running and we hope you are too.

The 2020 Regular Season will begin on Monday June 15th. The registration deadline for the season will be on Wednesday May 27th at 6:00pm. Please get your teams and players signed up through League Apps before the deadline. We will have a quick turnaround of classifications and getting the schedule created, approved and made available for teams.

Attached is the approved 2020 JSA mitigation plan. This plan will need to be followed by all JSA participants for us to have a safe season. Per our mitigation plan, each participant will be required to sign a health status agreement before they are allowed to play. JSA will be adding this language to the current wavier in League Apps. We will be sending out separate information on how to access and complete the new wavier. Anyone who has already signed the wavier will need to sign it again.

JSA is requiring that all player fees are to be paid before you play your first game. Team sponsor fees will be required to be paid by July 31st.

The Super Draft Tournament that was originally scheduled to start on May 29th is postponed at this time. This tournament will be rescheduled. We will update you as we have more information.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at [email protected] or call or text 907-957-7376.

Here’s the updated bat list.
