How much of a difference do shoes make in traveling even and sound vs barefoot HOOFBEATS WILL SHOW US EXACTLY!
I have an example of a previously English ridden and shown quarter horse mare.
I had her moving basically sound and very even with heart bars and wedge pad on her right and flat on her left. She showed lameness with symptoms of navicular when I started her. I gave her rocker toes with a more aggressive rocker on her right hoof that grows all toe so she would travel more even. The top yellow and red are her Mid stance, almost even (12 milliseconds difference.) This measurement is after 5 weeks. Notice the hinds which are bare, much more even than the barefoot measurement that I will show, letting us know how it all works together. The hinds are effected by the fronts even when they are barefoot behind with front shoes.

YES! Shoes are a benefit!

How Farriers Affect a Horse’s Hoof Landing 07/05/2023

Wow, “muscle activity and body confirmation have a greater influence on landing than the distal limb or the hoof!”

How Farriers Affect a Horse’s Hoof Landing While the horse is guided in a straight line on level, firm ground, the motion of the limb during the swing and stance phase is observed, along with the sideway motion and flight arc of the limb during the swing phase.

It’s much more than opinion! It’s facts, that can be used in our horses balance and movement.

🧐🧐🧐 Monitor your horse 🧐🧐🧐

- Analyze gaits for proper rhythm
- Use stride length data to finetune gaits
- Detect irregularities that could affect gaits
- Collect data during training to analyze how to improve gaits
- Detect the slightest of hoof movements

☯️☯️☯️ Hoofbalance ☯️☯️☯️

- Analyze landings for clear information on hoof balance
- Analyze hoof balance on different sub-surfaces
- Analyze and compare toe/heel landings on each individual hoof
- Gain insights into patterns which cause strain or injury

💪💪💪 Our sensors 💪💪💪
- Analyze 1140 images per second
- Ultra accurate measurements
- 25 gr in weight

A toe clip promotes toe growth! This kind mare has the most clubby hoof I’ve worked on in 34 years. I have had much success in getting more toe growth in a club or even a laminitis horse adding a toe clip. This old mare gets a reverse pad (toe wedge up) with a toe clip and flat shoe. Not a rocker toe. She is much more comfortable this way. I’ve tried the rocker a couple times and she says no thank you. It’s best to do what they like vs. what we have been taught by others or experienced in our career.
Her other hoof shows navicular type symptoms so she is most comfortable with a wedged heel, side clips and heart bar. Biggest miss matched case I’ve witnessed.
