Amazing new bike!
The all-new Specialized Crux 5 is no longer the beloved all-rounder — and that’s exactly the point
Basically a fat-tyred Tarmac, the new Crux leaves its cyclocross roots behind in favour of outright speed, aerodynamic efficiency and modern gravel race performance

Good Afternoon Gilroy! We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to share some important information regarding E-bikes and E-motorcycles.
We recently had a juvenile rider on an E-motorcycle, driving recklessly with no helmet or proper documentation for the bike. The driver was cited and the E-motorcycle was towed.
E-motorcycles lack required safety features such as turn signals, mirrors, and brake lights, and they can reach speeds up to 60 mph. Combined with unlicensed or inexperienced riders, this creates a serious safety risk.
Here's what you need to know:
In California, the primary difference is that e-bikes are legally treated as bicycles, requiring no license or registration, while e-motorcycles are considered motor vehicles requiring registration, insurance, and an M1 endorsement. Without these, riders may face citations, towing, and added costs. Please make sure your child is riding a Class 1, 2, or 3 e-bike and understands the rules of the road.
E-bikes must have operable pedals, motors under 750W, and top out at 20-28 mph.
E-motorcycles (often recognized by foot pegs instead of pedals) lack these limits and cannot legally use bike lanes. Most e-motorcycles are sold as off-highway vehicles and are not built for public roads.
PARENTS BE AWARE: California Vehicle Code 14607, states that it is illegal for a parent, guardian, or employer to knowingly permit a minor under 18 to drive a motor vehicle on public highways without a license. This citation can carry a $500 base fine.

A 41‑year‑old American amateur has just been nailed for doping at a Gran Fondo. Not in the WorldTour, not fighting for a salary – at an event most riders treat as their big day out for the year.
That’s what makes it so grim. The people he’s racing against are squeezing intervals in before work, juggling kids, and scraping together the money for travel and entry fees.
The damage doesn’t stop with one failed test either. It changes how we look at every masters performance.
Instead of being inspired by a huge performance, you catch yourself wondering if you’re watching hard work or just clever bloodwork.
That suspicion leaks from world championships to club leagues and Sunday fondos.
If you’ve got a day job and you’re pinning on a number, the deal is simple: you race with the body you’ve earned, not the one you’ve altered
If it takes a pharmacy to win an amateur Gran Fondo, you haven’t proved you’re strong – you’ve just shown everyone how insecure you really are.

As a bike shop owner, this one isn’t surprising.
Mismanagement made them vulnerable.
Tariffs raised costs, killed margins, and removed any room to recover.

It is essential to exercise caution when purchasing Chinese e-bikes, particularly those available on Amazon, as many have been found to be hazardous. Even established brands like Rad Power are encountering substantial problems, including delays in receiving replacement parts. Additionally, there have been incidents of fires in Jupiter, New York City, and other urban areas. When storing these bikes in enclosed spaces, such as boats or RVs, extra precautions should be taken to mitigate the risk of fire. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
A fire warning for an e-bike battery was issued. It was too late for a St. Paul couple.
Matt Privratsky said his home caught fire when a Rad Power e-bike battery overheated.
