Some sunshine from our Saturday keiki ☀️💦
These little swimmers always brighten my day 💙

20 photos. Total photobomb. 💦

The last week in my life… under water. 🌊

With my oncology appointment a week away, I’m feeling especially grateful for these moments—time in the water, play, laughter, and the joy these keiki bring into my days. 💙

I’m trusting that God is holding me through all of this, and I can feel His goodness in these simple, joyful moments. 🤍

Thank you for filling my heart this week. I love you.

Thank you so much for all the beautiful drawings and kind words. 💙
They truly mean the world to me.

They’ve helped keep me focused on the goal in front of me—one step at a time.

Right now, I’m choosing to focus on what I love and what I’m grateful for:
my faith, my church community, my swim friends and this incredible community, my amazing lesson families (and your sweet drawings 🥹), and taking care of my body through nutrition and movement.

I’m also holding onto the simple things that bring me joy—pottery, watercolor painting, beach walks, and ocean breezes. 🌊

I now have an appointment with my oncologist next week, and I’m grateful to have a plan and something to move toward. I trust that God is walking with me through all of this. 🤍

I tell the keiki all the time:
you can do hard things and breathe.
I’m reminding myself of that daily too.

Please continue to keep me in your prayers as I walk through this.
And thank you for your patience as I move through all the emotions that come with hearing this kind of news.

I feel so supported and so loved. 🤍

I’ve never loved my job more than I have this week. 💙

These keiki are so brave. They bring so much joy to my soul.

I’ve cried more tears than I thought possible. The grief this past week has been loud. But while watching the little videos I took during lessons, I realized something—what a blessing it is to be loved.

These kids say the funniest things. Do the funniest things. Make me laugh when I need it most.

And I’m reminded… laughter really is medicine. 🌊

What a gift it is to do work that heals you while you’re doing it.
What a gift it is to be surrounded by brave little people full of light.

I am so grateful. 🤍.

I took Tilly on a walk and just cried tears of why and the big emotional change in my day was swim lessons. It’s when I remembered for a brief moment who I am and how much I love what I do. I always tell the kids you can do hard things and to take a deep breath. That’s my reminder for myself today as well.

Hi Swim Ohana 💛

Thank you for taking a moment to read this and for being part of this swim community.

Right now, I’m focusing on my health and taking things one step at a time. I feel incredibly supported, and that means more than I can put into words.

Kona Swim Lessons will continue, and I’m so grateful to have strong support in place to keep showing up for your keiki with the same care and heart. 💙

If you feel led to support me in any way, the links are in my bio 🤍 or if you just want to stop in and say hello my door is open for hugs and encouragement.

Thank you for your prayers, your kindness, and for being here.

P.S. If you’re seeing this from my personal page, thank you for walking alongside me with your friendship, support, and prayers🤍

Big moment for our Saturday afternoon Parent + Tot class 💦💙

Every single one of these keiki is now fully going under the water 🥹👏🏽

From first hesitations…
to full submersions with trust and confidence.

This is what consistency, play, and feeling safe in the water can do. 🌊✨

So proud of these little swimmers — and their parents right there with them every step of the way.

📸 Huge thank you to Ivan for capturing these moments today!

I hear this a lot…
“Let me know if anything opens up”

So I made a little space 💛

Mondays are now open, and I’m really excited about these new spots.

If you’ve been hoping to get your child in, this is a really good time to grab one before they fill again.

Private lessons are a great place to start, especially for kids who are new to swim. Once they build those beginner skills, it’s always easy to transition into a group class later.

💦 “My child won’t put their face in the water…” 💙

This is one of the most common fears I see — and it’s completely normal.

For many kids, putting their face in the water feels overwhelming. Their body says: “Not safe yet.”

So we don’t force it.
We make it play.

I’ll ask them to save the rubber duckies 🦆💦or the variation of I spy!
And the whole time, I gently encourage:
“Can you put your eyes in?”

Not pressure. Not force. Just an invitation.

Because when a child is focused on a purpose — helping, playing, succeeding — their body starts to relax. And little by little, they choose to go under on their own.

That’s how confidence is built.

Through play.
Through trust.
Through feeling safe enough to try. 💙

And when they finally put their whole face in the water?
It’s not just a skill… it’s a huge win. 🌊✨
