100% Pure Kona Coffee Half Marathon & 5k

We’re wishing everyone a great long weekend filled with rest and a long run!😉

We love all our amazing runners but we also love all our amazing spectators! The ones who keep up going when we feel like we can’t go any farther! And because of that:

We have two cheer zones this year for family and friends to cheer on their runners! The first is at La’aloa Beach Park and the second is at “The Pit” located at the “End of the World”. And of course and the start and finish line. 😊📣👏🏽🥳

Music or no music? 🎶 We respect those who run in silence but we do have a DJ in the “pit!” Don’t forget to add some hill training so you can enjoy the music down there.😉💃🏽 We will have DJ Henny in “The Pit” again this year, dropping beats for all of our hardworking runners.

As we are just over 12 and a half weeks out from race day, those of you running the half marathon may be starting to set some race goals💭 We want to remind you that we will have pacers out on the course! This year, we will have pacers for the following finish times: 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20, 2:30. Our pacers are the perfect opportunity to help you reach your goals!😄

It’s the first week back to school for lots so we needed an Aloha Friday post! HAPPY ALOHA FRIDAY! Back to school and summer has come to a close which means we’re that much closer to November 14th and race day!🥳 We hope you all had an amazing week and we’re sending you positive vibes heading into the weekend!🏃🏽‍♀️

What is the weather like on Race Day?

Temperature at the start can be as low as 70 degrees but will likely climb to the mid 80’s by the 10:00 finish. Kailua-Kona is known for being sunny and warm. Don’t forget to check the weather forecasts prior to the race and make sure that you are drinking adequate fluids leading up to and on race day.

Get some heat training in during these summer months to ensure you’re prepared for race day!☀️

What’s the course like?

The 100% Pure Kona Coffee Run is located on Ali’i Drive. The course runs along the Pacific Ocean. The half marathon course is an out and back course with rolling hills throughout. Near the halfway point for the half marathon is a climb nearly 200 feet in elevation.
The 5k course is mostly flat with a few rolling hills.

So remember to add some hills into your training if you want to be smiling at the finish line!😉

Q: Do I get a medal for finishing the race?
A: We do not give out traditional medals but all runners will receive a finisher’s coffee mug! Which we think is awesome because it’s a medal you get to use every day!😉☕️
