Maverick Sportfishing Kona

2026 is off to a strong start — 9 blue marlin with our great return charter and 17 over our last 5 trips. A few nice ones in the mix. Had a few getaways, including one that pulled the hook and had us all shaking our heads. Taking a couple of days off, then we’ll be back on the hunt… going after that 16-lb world record for a few days.

We wrapped up December with 42 blue marlin — and 26 of those came in the last nine days with the boss onboard, which was a huge plus. Still counting up the final tally of our blue marlin for the year, but I can assure you… We hit over the 300 mark, 61 over 500 lb, a 631 lb tournament winner, and the biggest fish in 2025 1076lb.

Six days of absolute chaos on the ocean — MARLIN EVERYWHERE. The boss shows up and the ocean basically rolls out a blue-marlin red carpet. One day we had 20+ bites. All blues. Pure mayhem. Screaming drags. High-fives. Minor panic. Zero complaints.

We’re tying up for Christmas — refuel, reload, eat too much, pretend to rest. Wishing everyone a blessed, loud, fish-filled Merry Christmas.

Then on the 26th… throttles down. We’re finishing the year like a runaway freight train. Stand by — the record book better stretch first.

Boss’s favorite season is officially here: big family Christmas vacation. And like clockwork, December fishing shows up ready to work. Six years straight of insane marlin bites. First few days we’re already 11 for 19, and the month’s just warming up—10 more days left to fish. Santa clearly loves marlin fishing. 🎅🎣

“Still putting this boat back together like a 10,000-piece puzzle with no picture on the box. But hey—we’re on the water, and the fishing’s been better than expected!”

“After 36 days in hell rehab, Maverick is back with a full head-to-toe paint job and looking like she just got out of witness protection.”

It’s gonna be a busy month fishing and upgrading all the interior now: new upholstery, cushions, carpet… basically the whole spa package.”

Just a quick little glimpse of some of the action we've been having lately. Summer Tournaments start this weekend. I still have one tournament available, the Lure Makers Challenge July 18,19,20. And we also have a few open days between the tournaments available.
