Aloha to all of you who fished with me over the years. Some of you only fished one day while others were regulars on Kona Spirit. You all had one thing in common, boarded the boat as strangers and left as friends. It is with a little sadness that I have to let everyone know I am retiring and selling the boat and business effective November 15,2016. Some off you may know and have fished with the new owner Bobby Cherry. He's agreat young man, second generation fisherman in Kona and one heck of a fisherman. He will be renaming the boat Cherry Pit after he takes over. Sad to sell but couldn't have found a better owner to take over the business. I strongly recommend him for any of your fishing adventures in Kona. His phone number is 808-936-0726.
Aloha and Mahalo

9-20-16 Normally tag all blue marlin but this small one was hooked deep, so off to the smoker it goes.

9-13-16 and 9-14-16 Todd and Judy from Spokane WA. had a good 2 days of fishing with a nice ahi, a 400 lb. Blue Marlin and best of all a sailfish, which are extremely rare in Kona. It was the first sailfish for Kona Spirit. Great fun.

8-29-16 Brian arrived on Saturday and as tradition would have we went to the boat directly from the airport. In 2-1/2 days we hooked 5 blue marlin and pulled hook on everyone of the. On the third full day we went with Carlton and Bronson on the 53' Spencer Five Star. Went 2 for 3 on blue marlin and I enjoyed being the camera guy for a change. Brians trip cut short by hurricane Madeline headed our way.

7-30-16 water was a little rough on the Grounds earlier but we stuck it out and the bite started about noon. Charter was able to catch a nice blue marlin and a spearfish for dinner.
