Tournament Recap 🏆🥈
Played in a two round C-Tier in Johnson today! I have always played well on this course and love playing at least one event a year here.
To make a long story short, Round 1 was a ton of fun with new people, but I played with a lack of focus and made some critical mistakes. Keeping me far below my capabilities (NO REGRETS). Round 2 I locked in and shot a 1000 rated -10 and kept things surprisingly close. Didn’t win, congrats to Jack finishing strong and taking it down.
All in all a great day. I even saw an old student from my high school (oof I’m old) and heard her amazing story of success. Then had a dragonfly land on me that let me pick it up… 🤷♂️ Can’t wait to play again.

Sebastian and I had the AWESOME opportunity to check out the Ridges DGC, a private course I’ve been wanting to check out.
The course truly embraces Michigan design with tight (but still fair tbh) fairways and crazy elevation changes through the woods. Off the fairway is 🙅♂️. I think as I get older I become more aware of the beauty of shorter courses, and see AMAZING courses are not always “Tour” courses. That being said, this course had WAY more going for it than I thought going into this. Forehand lines, islands, hazards, elevated baskets, buried baskets and more! Tons of fun esthetics hidden through the course. Sebastian had so much fun finding stuff (especially the dinosaur bones). Amazing to see what other people design for courses on their own property and see their vision. I will 100% be going back to try it again.
Thank you Joel for an awesome morning before the crazy heat 🥵 rolled in.

Catalpa Open! 🏆
A tale of two rounds with two rounds and two completely different results.
Round 1 can be described in a single emoji… 🌧️. It rained non-stop and continuously. EVERYTHING got wet and grip was difficult at the best of times. I just tried to have fun, threw some good shots still but putters LIGHTS OUT! Apparently raining Zack is nasty from C2 and I dunked so many from down town.. 🤷♂️ also, Lunas are super good in case you didn’t know.
Round 2 the weather broke. Mostly clear skies and grip that was restored. I felt like I was throwing better off the tee, but was stuck in C2 still. My putting also felt okay, but 7 of my C2 attempts went off band or top of basket and one missed low. 🤷♂️ the RW-0325-P (Roost) did good work all round and I’m loving the Ares the more I throw it.
Shot the same both rounds 😬 and took home the trophy since the other MPO left earlier in the day. ITS STILL A WIN SO COUNT IT! Overall I still had fun and watched some good disc golf. Thank you Charles for the event and for getting me a personalized celebration for winning with the most Zac trophy of all time. On to the next one!
