Okay, boys and girls, I’m back on my soapbox again.

The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting is coming up October 14, and this is our opportunity to make our voices heard.

Commissioner Ian Wargo has put forward FOUR amendments that deserve everyone’s attention. Please take the time to go in, read each amendment for yourself, and make your comments.

On the comment page, there is a drop-down for each amendment. You can comment on each one individually and tell the Commission exactly what you think.

Whether you agree or disagree with a particular amendment, SPEAK UP.

For a long time, we’ve heard the same complaint: “They don’t listen to us.”

Well, now we have an opportunity to be heard, and that means we need to show up and participate.

We have already seen what public involvement can do. At the August meeting, people spoke up about the proposed changes involving soft plastics and artificial lures, and that proposal was struck out.

THAT WAS A WIN.

People spoke up. They were heard.

Now we need to keep going.

Please read Commissioner Wargo’s four amendments, submit your comments on each one, and contact the commissioners directly. I will put links to both the Commission contacts and the public-comment page with this post.

I’ll also be going through these amendments and putting in my own two cents.

But one person commenting isn’t enough.

If you care about what happens to our lakes, rivers, streams, fisheries, and the future of fishing in Montana, TAKE A FEW MINUTES AND GET INVOLVED.

We finally have an opportunity to have our voices heard. Let’s use it.

Read the amendments. Make your own decision. Submit your comments. Contact the commissioners.

Please share this with other Montana anglers and anyone else who cares about the future of our fisheries.

Attended the reg one meeting tonight. Awesome meeting it was set up as town hall format region took our suggestion to move from open house style Win for sportman. Another Win they took to heart how we that Attended the last meeting on next year's regulations proposal on soft plastics. Plastics where totally taken out the will be considered lure and not artificial lures, Win in my book! Met our new region one fisheries manager Leo. Not at all like our last fisheries manager. Very open to our comments and concerns.
Boys and girls we need to engage in our local fisheries management and get educated and come engage in the meetings that concern our fisheries management
