Before the night is over, we have to send our love to Makali’i Wa’a.
This wa’a (canoe) was built 26 years ago by a small community of big hearted folk. Mahalo to all those who have paved the way. Hauʻoli lā hānau e Makaliʻi!

Did you know that majority of the Hawaii STATE beach parks on the Big Island
DO NOT allow canoes or surfing access, yet the ‘STATE’ of HAWAII gives priority to tourist (majority of which can’t swim).
How are the children of Hawai’i to learn of their culture heritage with restricted access to beaches and ocean?
Envisioning more accessibility for Wa’a so that keiki training like this can happening.
We invite you to envision with us.
Teaching these keiki how to spot a Puna Wai or fresh water spring coming off the ‘aina into the ocean.
