Nutter Sr. Community Center is now open. The new center features:

- An indoor pool to provide life-saving swim lessons and recreational opportunities year round.

- An expanded health and wellness center in which people can improve their health with new cardiovascular exercise and strength training equipment.

- A community room for all ages to connect through shared interests at meetings, faith-based group gatherings, celebrations of family and friends, and more.

- A teaching kitchen for healthy eating, nutrition and cooking classes.

- A renovated gym in which the community can gather for special events and healthy living activities such as youth and adult sports.

- Multi-purpose studios for group exercise, dance, music, arts, and other social and educational activities.

- A Kids Zone enrichment center to provide a safe and fun place for kids to learn and play.

🎒📚 Giving Back to Our Community! ❤️

Today, the Linwood YMCA had the incredible opportunity to donate over 250 backpacks filled with school supplies to Kansas City Public Schools in support of their Students in Transition Program!

This program provides essential support to students and families within the district who are experiencing homelessness, helping ensure they have access to the resources they need.

At the Y, we believe that strengthening our community starts with showing up for one another. ❤️ We’re grateful to be able to make a difference and help remove barriers so students can focus on learning, growing, and succeeding.

Because every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their circumstances! 💙

And we have some EXCITING news to share! 🎉

On top of all the FREE family fun we already have planned, we’re adding a FREE HALLOWEEN COSTUME GIVEAWAY! 🦸🏽‍♀️👸🏾🧙🏽‍♂️

That’s right! We have OVER 100 unused HALLOWEEN COSTUMES that we’ll be giving away FREE to children of all ages! 🧡 Costumes will be available while supplies last. Big thanks to our community partner Urban Community Connections !!!!!!

Our Y Breakaway Days (School Out Days) give families a safe, fun, and engaging place for their kids to spend the day while school is out.

Today was a great day in the Linwood community. ❤️

The Linwood YMCA was honored to partner with Kansas City’s Day of Hope, an event dedicated to connecting individuals and families with resources, support, food, care packages, and community services.

As a community resource partner, we had the opportunity to share information about the programs and services available through the YMCA while connecting with neighbors and organizations committed to making a difference.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and community partners who came together to serve others with compassion and care. We are grateful to be part of a community that shows up for one another.

Meet our newest Linwood YMCA friend… and he’s HUNGRY! 😋

As we prepare for our Trunk-or-Treat on Friday, October 23rd, we’re collecting candy and individually packaged treats for the hundreds of children and families we hope to welcome to the YMCA.

👻 Our Candy Monster is accepting:
🍬 Candy
🍫 Chocolate
🍪 Individually packaged snacks
🍿 Treats and goodies
🎃 Other Halloween-friendly goodies

Simply drop your donations into the collection box located in the lobby!

Every piece of candy helps us create a fun, safe, and memorable Halloween experience for local families. Whether you’re a YMCA member, community partner, or neighbor, we’d love your support.

🥫 The Linwood YMCA is looking to expand our community food pantry partnerships! 🤝🏾💙

We are so grateful for our current pantry partners who help us provide food and resources to individuals and families in our community. We’re looking to build on that support by connecting with additional organizations, businesses, churches, farms, food distributors, and community groups who would be interested in partnering with us.

We are especially looking for partners who may be able to donate or provide:

🥫 Non-perishable food items
❄️ Frozen foods
🥬 Refrigerated/fresh foods
🍎 Produce
🛒 Other food resources that can help support our community

Our goal is simple: to provide our community with greater access to a variety of food and resources when they need them. ❤️

If you or someone you know represents an organization that would be interested in partnering with the Linwood YMCA, we would love to connect!
