Renovation Spotlight: Hole No. 18

⛳ Fairway lines were improved.
⛳ Trees along the right were removed.
⛳ Large "Elephant Ear" bunkers—one of A. W. Tillinghast's signature design elements were restored on both sides of the green, recapturing the bold visual character and strategic challenge of his original architecture.

Renovation Spotlight: Hole No. 17

⛳ Added a carry bunker to the front of the fairway.
⛳ The fairway was shortened and narrowed dramatically.
⛳ The fairway was recontoured, and the left fairway bunker was moved to the right side of the fairway.

This photograph dates back to 1935 and was taken from behind the green when today's Hole 8 was originally Hole 3, before the course was rerouted. The clubhouse can be seen in the distance, serving as a timeless landmark.

While much has changed over the past nine decades, the spirit of Swope Memorial has remained the same.

The next chapter has begun.
