Sunday Mood: Still Riding
After the storms...
After the heartbreak...
After the setbacks...
We still find peace in the pasture.
A horse doesn't worry about yesterday.
A horse doesn't stress about tomorrow.
They simply stand in the moment.
Maybe that's why time around horses heals the soul.
Today we're choosing gratitude, faith, and forward movement.
Recharge your soul.
Count your blessings.
Love your people.
Hug your horses.
Feed your dreams.
Trust God's timing.
The trail may get rough, but the ride isn't over.
Saddle up and do it all again tomorrow.

π€π΄ SPOTLIGHT ON OUR LEGACY IN MOTION! π΄π€
What started as a dream, a few horses, and a passion for preserving our heritage has grown into something far greater than we ever imagined.
Today, we celebrate the families, riders, volunteers, supporters, board members, youth, and community partners who continue to help move the mission of Giddy-Up Riders of Kansas City forward.
Every lesson taught, every child encouraged, every horse groomed, every event attended, every obstacle overcome, and every memory created is a part of our legacy.
We are proud to be building confidence, preserving culture, promoting agriculture, teaching horsemanship, and creating opportunities for youth and families throughout our community.
This photo represents more than a group of peopleβit represents dedication, perseverance, family, friendship, and a shared commitment to honoring the rich legacy of Black cowboys and cowgirls while empowering the next generation.
Even through recent challenges and heartbreak, including the loss of our beloved Storm, our mission remains strong, our faith remains steady, and our community continues to ride together.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Giddy-Up Riders of Kansas City along the journey. The movement rides on because of YOU.

π΄π SHE LOST MORE THAN A HORSE ππ΄
This is Avery.
Many of you know her as Baby Giddy-Up.
You have seen her riding in parades.
You have seen her at community events.
You have seen her helping us serve families throughout Kansas City.
What many don't know is that Avery recently lost her best friend.
Storm.
Her riding partner.
Her parade companion.
Her trail riding buddy.
Her heart horse.
Today, Avery no longer has a horse to ride in upcoming parades, church events, trail rides, and community programs.
Storm can never be replaced.
But together, we can help Avery continue the journey they started.
If our community has ever been touched by Giddy-Up Riders, attended an event, met one of our horses, or simply believes in helping a young cowgirl keep riding, we ask for your support.

π¨ WE NEED ACTION π¨
For years, concerns have been raised regarding drainage and stormwater issues affecting our area.
Following recent severe flooding, our ranch property suffered extensive damage, and our family suffered the heartbreaking loss of Storm.
We are asking our community to stand with us and support long-term solutions that help protect families, animals, nonprofits, and property owners.

π΄π HELP US PUT A HORSE BACK UNDER A COWGIRL ππ΄
Our hearts are still broken.
Many of you have followed Storm's story through the news, social media, and our community outreach efforts. Storm was not just a horse. He was Avery's best friend, riding partner, parade companion, and a beloved member of the Giddy-Up Riders family.
For years, Storm proudly represented Giddy-Up Riders of Kansas City at:
π€ Juneteenth Parades
βͺ Church Events
π Birthday Parties
π΄ Trail Rides
π« Youth Programs
πΈ Community Appearances
Today, Avery has lost more than a horse.
She has lost the partner she rode beside, trained with, loved, and trusted.
As we continue grieving Storm's loss, we are beginning the search for Avery's next horseβa safe, gentle partner who can help her continue riding, learning, growing, and representing our community.
