Congratulations to our 11u DBS Generals on completing our first fall season together!

As a new team, we faced challenges and grew as players and individuals. We stepped up to compete in a tougher league, explored new positions, set high expectations, and encouraged everyone to work hard, even when no one was watching.

Thank you to the families and players for your commitment and positive attitude. We look forward to continuing this journey and helping everyone achieve their goals!

I know many of you feel frustrated about not getting as much playing time as you’d like. It’s tough, but it’s important to understand that lineup decisions involve many factors, including skill level and available positions.

Instead of focusing on what you can’t control, let’s channel that energy into improvement. Use this insightful cheat sheet by Greg Berge to enhance your skills and increase your chances of playing time. Together, we can grow and make an impact on the field!

Parents, key tip:

Help your young athlete be well-rounded. Encourage diverse sports, movement mastery, coach connection, and skill honing. Embrace setbacks, it’s part of the game. As they grow, detailed mechanics come later; focus on games, movements, and challenges early on.

For arm care, keep it simple—master an easy warm-up routine. When throwing, aim for intent, distance, and using the whole body. Don’t complicate for young athletes; let them experiment, prioritize long-term goals. Accuracy improves, but speed and power need room to grow without fixed beliefs.

For many dreaming of a future in baseball, let’s keep it real. Making it past high school is tough. The game gets tougher each year, and not everyone’s cut out for college ball. It’s not about lacking love for the game, but rather, many miss the mark in putting in the hard work needed. The deal is, most players don’t consistently step up to face stronger competition. As your coach, my job is to break it down: daily grind on your skills is a must, or you won’t make the cut. Playing college ball? You’ve got to be a top-tier athlete nationally—big, strong, and successful. If you’re not pushing for that every day, facing that level of competition is just wishful thinking.

Looking to step up your game, DM us to register for personal throwing programs designed to help reach your goals.

I found that incorporating these tools had a profound impact on my career, and they can do the same for you.

Bands became my go-to for warm-ups, ensuring I felt optimal before each session.

Plyocare balls transformed my solo training, allowing me to use varied weights for specific movements and ultimately throw with more power.

Wrist weights played a crucial role in building strength, preventing soreness, and maintaining peak performance.

The radar gun, my career’s game-changer, provided clear feedback, eliminating excuses and pinpointing areas for improvement.

Embrace these tools, and you’ll experience a similar boost in your velocity and overall throwing prowess. Ready to get started?

Drop me a message, and let’s tailor a program just for you!
