JC Harmon Hawks Wrestling

We have a YOUNG team this year. The majority of kids on our roster are first year wrestlers for us. We battled this weekend at the Wyandotte Classic. We learned from a lot of mistakes and saw some success from these kids being coachable. Super proud of these student-athletes!

We’ve got 4 boys going to state! We battled hard in our placement matches today. Our team had some great wins and some heartbreaking defeats, both of which we will use to learn and grow off of. Overall, these boys represented our school and community extremely well. Congrats fellas!

Our kids competed in the 56th Joel Rios this Saturday. We wrestled hard as a team getting 4th out of 14 teams. Congrats to our champions Carlos Gallardo (215lb) and Zach Ladd (120lb)

On Saturday our team went to Topeka to compete in the Melvin Douglas. We finished 4th out of 14 teams. We battled through having 3 empty weight classes and while it wasn’t the result we wanted, our wrestlers left it all on the mat. We will get better and they are already grinding in practice to start bringing home some team hardware. Congrats to our medalists:

Your Harmon Hawks finished 4th as a team today out of 14 teams in the Wyandotte Classic. We were in 2nd place most of the day but struggled in the consolation rounds. We wrestled hard and found out what we do well as well as what we need to improve on. Overall, we are very proud of our boys and girls. They represented our school and our program well. Congratulations to our Medalists!

After a lot of battling at 5A Regionals we have 4 guys going to state! Each and every one of our guys showed a grit and heart that will get them even farther in life than a wrestling mat ever could. 3 battled in the blood round and came up one match short of going to state. Time to get to work, perfect our craft and kick some butt in Wichita!
