There is no way to happiness - happiness is the way!

Well friends, I’ve participated in Lent in my own way these last few years and this year, like last year, I give up Facebook and Instagram for the next 6 weeks. It’ll be hard not seeing the pictures and celebrations my children and you all post, especially those fish pics!

During this time, I’m also making a commitment to cutting out sugar in the foods I eat. My willpower to resist sweets has not been so good as of late. I’m capable of devouring large quantities of donuts, milkshakes, brownies, and foods loaded with carbs.

Although I can make changes in my life at anytime, Lent gives me a dedicated season to intentionally create space for growth, renewal, and a deeper relationship with God. It offers me the grace to reflect and examine my heart, recognize my shortcomings, turn humbly back to Him, and practice self-denial so I can clear distractions and strengthen my spiritual focus.

Friends, we are not a drop in the ocean, we are the ocean in a drop. There is a fountain inside us, so let’s not walk around with an empty bucket.
