TCW showed up strong at the Southern Plains Regional this weekend.

While we’re proud of the results, our focus has never been short-term success. Our mission is long-term athletic development—building disciplined, resilient young athletes through consistency, accountability, and hard work. Wrestling is the vehicle, but character is the true outcome.

We’re proud of every athlete who stepped on the mat, competed, and continued the process of growth. This journey is a marathon, not a sprint. Great things are built over time, one practice, one match, one lesson at a time.

For those who stay committed, trust the process, and continue to buy in—victory will not be denied.

Proud of this team. Back to work.

Team Central had a great showing at the Missouri Freestyle & Greco State Championships this weekend in Springfield. We’re proud of all of our athletes for the way they competed, battled, and represented the club.

Spring and summer wrestling make winter champions. While many athletes slow down after folkstyle season, our wrestlers continue putting in the work — sharpening technique, building toughness, and developing the skills that carry over into the winter season. Freestyle and Greco wrestling build pressure, positioning, confidence, and grit.

This weekend showed the results of that hard work with multiple state placers and champions across several age groups. More importantly, we saw growth, heart, and determination every time our athletes stepped on the mat.

Now the focus shifts to the next challenge as Team Central begins preparing for Kids Nationals and Fargo.

Discipline compounds. Toughness travels. The work done in silence always shows itself under the lights.

Shoutout to TCW Alum, US Open All-American David Gleason 🇺🇸

David battled through a massive 186 man bracket at U20 70kg to place 8th — and along the way took out #1 seed Melvin Miller — all at just 18 years old.

Proud of the performance, but even more proud of the way David carries himself on and off the mat. He’s always giving back when he’s in town, pouring into the next generation.

Being a great athlete is cool — being a man of character is everything.

A perfect example of long-term athletic development done right. He’s just getting started.

Can’t wait to get him back in the room this summer.

Adidas Nationals 2026

Couldn’t be more proud of Team Central today.

All the hard work, tough practices, and commitment are showing across the board. This wasn’t just one or two athletes getting it done — this was a full team effort. Every athlete stepped on the mat ready to scrap, and it showed.

Today, Team Central divided and conquered. We had tough athletes making deep runs, battling through adversity, and representing the room the right way. That’s what it’s about — not just wins, but how you compete, how you carry yourself, and how you respond when it gets tough.

This is the standard we are building and improving on.

Shoutout to champion Isaac Diaz — a kid who consistently puts in the work, day in and day out. No shortcuts, no excuses. It’s showing in a big way, and it’s no surprise to see him on top of the podium.

52lb – Easton Berryman, 3rd

100lb – Calvin Loveall, 5th
52lb – Josiah Dixon, 6th

Team Central Wrestling was proudly represented at the Heartland Duals for Team Missouri by three of our athletes—Gunnar Ballard, Finn Moehle, and Declan Witkowski.

The Heartland Duals is one of the premier USA Wrestling events in our region, loaded with state champions representing their respective states. Our guys stepped up and delivered.

Declan Witkowski led the way, earning Team MVP and All-American honors after going undefeated and pinning all eight of his opponents.

The team brought home a 1st place finish in the Platinum Division.

Proud of these athletes and the way they represented Team Central. Hard work is paying off.

Team Central Wrestling Club — Missouri Folkstyle State Championships 🏆

An incredible weekend at the Missouri Folkstyle State Tournament for Team Central. Our athletes battled on the biggest stage in the state and came away with 18 state placers, helping our club finish 8th overall out of 138 teams.

🏆 Team Central also captured the 8U Boys Team State Championship, led by State Champion Finnegan Moehle, Runner-Up Justice Carnes, and 3rd Place finisher Easton Berryman.

We are also proud of the development across the board in every age group at Team Central. From our youngest wrestlers learning the sport to our older athletes competing deep into the tournament, the growth, effort, and commitment from this group continues to show.

But wrestling teaches something deeper than medals. This sport forges character in ways few others can. It teaches young athletes how to work when things are hard, how to face adversity, and how to stand back up after defeat. Victory brings confidence, but defeat builds resilience, humility, and determination. Both are necessary. Both are part of the journey. The process.

We are proud of every athlete who stepped on the mat, whether they stood on the podium or not. The lessons learned through wrestling—discipline, toughness, and perseverance—carry far beyond the mat.

As this season comes to a close, we also want to give a special shout out to our 8th graders who will be moving on to high school wrestling. We are excited to watch your success at the next level and have confidence and belief in each of you. Keep going.

Thank you to the parents and families who support these athletes and give them the opportunity to compete and grow through this sport. Post photos in the comments so we can remember this weekend!

We have 18 guaranteed spots left. We will open up registration today and tomorrow. We are reserving a few for middle school kids to register the first week of November after they have had a couple weeks of practice as well.

The free trial practice 11/5: if your kid isn’t signed up they can come. But if there are 40 kids there and 10 spots left, the 10 will be selected based off how many kids in each room we have, partners, skill and other factors.

If you want your kid to wrestle I recommend signing up. $275 for the season is very reasonable compared to other sports. Yes other expenses including a USA Wrestling card of $50, shoes and headgear and torunament fees if they compete, but still for a sport that teaches toughness… worth it.
