Taika was immensely proud to be both from the Ryukyu islands, as well as to be a U.S. citizen.
A few years ago, I was playing with Mons and Logos and came up with a logo of the Ryukyu Mon over the U.S. flag, symbolizing this combination of dual Oyata Pride. To my surprise it was popular among many people, and I had many requests to add this to a shirt. We have put together an Oyata Patriot Shirt that has this Patriot Mon on the front, as well as the characters for Ryukyu Heart on the back. The theme was essentially Red, White (off white) and Blue with the t-shirt colors however we did add a Purple as the Ryukyu Mon selected by Taika for his patches was purple as well as rounding out with one green shirt by request to give us six choices.
This order will be taken online, and the hope is that we can get a host of people, regardless of what branch of your Oyata lineage might be, posting pics in their new shirts on the Fourth of July.

THIS IS NOT AN ORDER - THIS IS TEST 03
These are all Back Shots as you have seen in other threads the front already.
The FIRST picture is my second Test order. The thin line around the mon was in black and it really didn't work well. So I redid them with the gold line around it and think it looks better.
The Second picture is a blue shirt with a bigger MON on the back, more for NZ people to look at the size difference.
The REST are all various colors so you can see how the design works with various colors. Obviously if we pull the trigger at some point the hope is to make the shirt color selectable by the purchaser...if that isn't too expensive. If it is too expensive and we have to go with one color it will probably be a dark blue like the first picture but not sure yet.

We will be doing the OyataTe Speed Drill data project again in the coming weeks. Just a heads up.
Saturday - Going to try a virtual group class rather than solos Sat 10-Noon. I have Zoom setup, info in this calendar and dojo page calendar. I may additionally livestream via FB but that doesn't allow questions, 2 direction video, etc. Group should be interesting.
