We went to USRA nationals, showed up late Friday just in time for the heat, went through pretech and they didnt like my body so i had to throw 25lbs on the rf, really upset the car for the heat but its part of it. We ended up smoking a tire in the feature and eventually pulling off.

Saturday we started by points in the C main, since i showed up late we started last finished 4th, got 3rd with a dq. Started 13th in the B main was up to 8th taking top 6 and the car just lost ignition and died. It started back up fine, looked it over during the week and decided we needed to race it at least one more time.

Last night we went to I-35 speedway, missed my heat so we started 20th in a stacked field, made it up and had some fun racing with Blake Peeler and ended up 11th and the car ran fine. Weird deal but we have all winter to look it over. Thanks for all the help this year. Didnt quite end up how I wanted but we have a good car and know what to do moving forward. Need to race more next year, if anyone wants to be on the car next year and thinks I could help their business, reach out and we can figure out a plan to benefit the both of us.

Well we started the night doing exactly what we wanted to do, get aggressive in the heat and start further forward in the feature! Had some contact in the heat and got the radiator shoved into the fan, thought we were good for the feature but 5 laps in we were already pushing 240. Sucks because we had a pretty fast hot rod and werent even pushing the issue yet. We’re going to get her back together once again and decide where to go next. Our parts guy is making a killing off me this month 😂

Tomorrow night we plan on racing at I-35 Speedway!

Well we tried! Heat races just aren’t my thing right now. Really setting us up bad the rest of the night. Felt like we had a hot rod after fixing it up for the b main and making it in the show, then somehow the car just flat out sucked for the main. We did get the hard charger and a 10th place finish from 21st but thats about all I can say about it. We will see what the plans are moving forward, my new motor is on the way, thank you Brandon Hoover for letting me borrow his for the time being.

The 6th Annual Molle Auto Group Mike Tanner “Finish Strong” Memorial Race is at I-35 Speedway this Saturday, June 15, 2024. This race is one many have marked on their schedule to either compete or attend! This event is held in honor of the driver and man who made number 20 famous at I-35 Speedway and then around the racing world! The “Finish Strong Foundation” is a local 501(c)3 that supports young athletes in their competitive sports when illness, injury, death, or other unexpected traumatic event affects families financially.

Racecar classes in competition for this super exciting race night include the USRA Modifieds, USRA B Mods, E Mods, Pure Stocks, Sport Compacts, Late Models, Junior Sport Compacts, and a special payout for the USRA Medieval Stock Cars. The Stock Car 25 lap feature will pay $2120 for first, $920 for second, $820 for third and $220 to start the feature. The full payout for the Stock Car race is listed below in the “for the racers” section.

There will be Raffle Items and T-Shirts available for sale with the proceeds going to the “Finish Strong Foundation”. Additionally, if you would like to donate go to the website finishstrongfoundation.com to purchase items (all money from items purchased go directly to the foundation) or make a monetary donation by clicking on the donations tab.

Lots of racing, lots of excitement, a race everyone should have on their schedule. We look forward to seeing you this Saturday, June 15, 2024. I-35 Speedway the track that consistently races every Saturday through the month of October. Always nonstop racing action with lots of fun involved. The races start at 7:00 P.M.

For the fans... I-35 Speedway is located at EXIT 64 off Interstate 35 (1/4 mile east of the Interstate). Free Parking. Mom approved restrooms.

General Admission $15, Seniors (age 62+) and Military $12 admission, and ages 18 and younger are FREE (ID may be requested).

A variety of track food favorites are available at Trackside Bar & Grill (Turn 1) serving tenderloins, hot fries, chicken strips, burgers, and an assortment of appetizers, Sugar Shack (Turn 1) is the spot for funnel cakes, deep fried Oreos, root beer floats, and pretzels. The main concession (inside entrance gate, turn 4) is the place to find walking tacos, hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, candy and much, much more.

Regular Racing Hours - Pit Gates open at 4:00 pm. Driver's meeting and pill draw close 6:00 pm. Hot Laps 6:20 - 6:50 pm. First heat race: 7:00 pm. Pit Passes: Drivers $35, Pit Crew and Pit Spectators $40, Kids 6-10 $25, Kids 5 and under are free.

I-35 Speedway Driver Registration: Register with I-35 Speedway (myracepass.com) or print form at I-35 Speedway – Dirt Trackin' at its best! complete and bring with you. One-night temporary registration $15.

USRA Classes: You must be registered with USRA, only temporary one-night licenses can be sold at the track $10. Alternative B-Mod USRA rules apply. Check out the USRA website usraracing.com.

Fuel (110 and Premium) is available for sale at the track. We are stocked with American Racer Tires and Real Wheels (contact Mike Johnson 816-365-7592). Also available are Champion Race Products (oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid, and gear oil).

Minors (17 and under): Everyone age 17 and under must have a completed Minor's release to enter the pits.

Competitors Minor's Release: Must have a completed Minor's release for all competitors 17 and under AND it must include a copy of your birth certificate with either a valid state stamp or authentic seal.
