Here is the schedule/route for the cyclist that have spent the better part of a year to get here from Argentina !
Join them and show them our Midwest hospitality!!

The Monday after!
I’ve read many a post where cyclist were disappointed they had to stop before the end mile.
Where cyclist finished but had to walk a 1/3 of the course to avoid mechanical failure.
Watched video of puddle hopping turned into pond flopping!
Pros that were trying to leave a mark on the ride and left a mark on their ego.
What’s the point to all of this?
Challenges.
Seeing what it is they can accomplish .
Beating last years best time.
This is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea.
It takes a special kind of “crazy” commitment, mentally and physically, to go after the challenge.
A daily grind of riding, rain, sleet, snow or sunshine!
I personally have a different kind of “crazy” and this isn’t my cup of tea.
However, I have mad respect for all of the riders.
You did it!
My dad used to always say as I struggled to climb the hills while riding….”it’s all down hill from here”.
It’s been many years since I heard him say that but the meaning is real.
Climb those hills.
It’s going to be hard.
Enjoy the descent, the trill is in the accomplishment!
(This was not written by AI! Just an overworked bike shop owner trying to send out some kudos!)
I do not own the rights to this pictures, I borrowed from social media!

UNBOUND GRAVEL: where thousands of cyclists voluntarily pay money to ride 200 miles through peanut butter, Flintstone-sized gravel, and emotional damage. 🚴💀
This isn’t a bike race. It’s a traveling survival documentary with chain l**e.
You’ll see:
• $12,000-$20,000 bikes laid gently(yea, whatever!) in ditches like fallen soldiers😜
• Grown adults crying over tire pressure decisions🙃
• Someone fixing a derailleur with a tortilla and blind optimism😫
• 4 a.m. alarms because “the vibes are immaculate” ⏰
• Riders saying “I’m just here to finish” before immediately treating every hill like the Tour de France (while riding next to Tour de France caliber riders)
And the FEST?
Absolute chaos in the best way possible:
Beer gardens 🍺
Cowbells 🐮
Dusty high-fives, or mud flapping fistbump!
Suspiciously tight cycling kits🤤
40,000 stories that start with:
“Bro… you won’t believe what happened at mile 137.”🤪
Emporia becomes a gravel-powered fever dream for one glorious weekend.
Every coffee shop packed.
Every parking lot full of bike racks. Every person somehow covered in dust or mud, sunscreen, and electrolyte mix.
By Sunday:
• Legs destroyed😜
• GPS devices dead🗺️
• Group chats overflowing💬
•Relationships tested over pacing strategy😬
• Everyone already planning for next years race!
Unbound isn’t just a race.
It’s a cult with snacks and carbon wheels. 🤝
It’s a cult that started with local legend!
Joel, your mind was truly one of a kind!
