I decided on my next flat (this morning) to try out Park Tool glueless patches. Most flats happen in the wet like this morning. The water acts as a lubricant to allow sharp rocks, glass, or whatever to pe*****te your tire easier. I ran over some things and the result was 3 holes. I'm happy to report that the patches did their job. The only thing I wish they had in the kit was alcohol prep pads to clean your tube before the patch application. I had them, but that's my advise to you.

Had a great morning wrenching at the Bike for the Brain ride this morning. It started a little wet, but turned out to be a great day. It was a well organized ride. I'd recommend putting it on your calendar for next year.

A customer brought in his bike for service and I noticed the Kirtland Touring bag. I said I haven't seen one of those since I was at Blue Hills Bike & Hike back in the 80's. Then he produced the receipt.

I rode my bicycle to Benetti's Coffee Experience this morning, and I think so can you. The first person ride a bicycle to Bennetti's get's this compact tool set for free.

Every now and then they let me out of the shop, however it was still to turn wrenches at the City of Fountains Bicycle tour. After the rain cleared it was probably some of the best weather you can hope for to ride. Seemed like everybody had a good time. I know I did.

A bouquet of air pumps. Doesn't matter if you have a $40 bike or a $4,000 bike, you will probably need to air your tire back up to pressure once a week. So it's good to have a good quality pump like a Blackburn or Pedros for long lasting performance.

A customer ordered these and now after seeing them I'm going to have to get some for myself. The Challenge, Strada-Bianca tires, at 260 threads per inch these are super compliant, 700x30 tires that will go anywhere. Perfect for the roads South East of Kansas city.
