Our beautiful Wailua River and surrounding areas suffered significant damage from Hurricane Lowell. Pono Kayak Rentals will remain closed until the river, launch areas, and Wailua River State Park are safe for visitors again.

At this time, we do not have an estimated reopening date. All affected reservations will be canceled and fully refunded.

Thankfully, our family and staff are safe, but like so many across Kauaʻi, we have all been heavily affected. Right now, our focus is on helping our families, friends, and neighbors recover while our island works to restore electricity, water, communications, roadways, and other essential services.

Communication remains limited, so please be patient if we cannot respond immediately. We see your messages, and all cancellation and refund requests will be honored.

Kauaʻi needs time to heal. We love our community, and we cannot wait to welcome you back to paddle the Wailua River when it is safe again.

Today we're labeling kayaks, organizing gear, and putting the finishing touches on Pono Kayak Rentals as we prepare for our soft launch this Friday.
