-- Kauai Ocean Safety Bureau Ocean Safety Bureau officials advising no swimming, snorkeling for east-, south-, and west-facing shores; High Surf Advisory in effect--

Ocean Safety Bureau officials advise no swimming or snorkeling at east-, south, and west-facing shores of Kaua‘i due to a High Surf Advisory and dangerous ocean conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for south-facing shores of Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau through 6 p.m. this evening.

Surf of 7 to 10 feet is excepted. Impacts include strong breaking waves, shore breaks, and strong rip currents that make swimming difficult and dangerous. Entering the water in these areas during the High Surf Advisory is hazardous. Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should use caution when entering waters.
The advisory may be extended or modified as conditions develop. For updated information on ocean and weather alerts, visit the NWS website, www.weather.gov/hfo.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I share this news. The Kapa'a Seasport Divers has closed permanently due to the covid19 virus. This breaks my heart, I have had the immense pleasure of helping and made some amazing friends. Seasport Po'ipū will continue to provide spearo service and never hesitate to message me and I will always go out of my way to help. Stay strong my friends!
