Join us in welcoming new assistant athletic director and head volleyball coach: Ms. Simone Joiner!
Born and raised in southern California, Simone Joiner was always active in sports. Beginning her career in athletics as a gymnast, she later transitioned to running track and field where she discovered her true passion of volleyball her eighth grade year. Once an Eleanor Roosevelt High School Alum, she began her collegiate athletic career at the Historically Black College, Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi. After receiving her Bachelor of Art in Mass Communication with a focus in Journalism, Simone returned home to California where she discovered the next best thing after becoming a retired athlete, becoming a coach. While in California she coached Varsity Boys Volleyball at Chino Hills High School and was also the 8th grade volleyball coach at El Roble Intermediate School in Claremont. After coaching in California for two years she moved to Texas. For the 2024-2025 season, Coach Simone will be entering her 6th year of coaching club volleyball. This is her first year at Memorial Lutheran, but this will be her 3rd season coaching at a school.
We are excited to have you with us at Memorial Lutheran, Coach Simone!
