😞 We have been approached by some schools in the area for e-bike safety course, and even if the shop seizes to exist, we are scheduling the ebike safety class for next month with a local school. It is absolutely essential that kids understand the dangers of riding e-bikes on our roads, just like road cyclists learn bike safety and road safety. The motor on the ebike adds so much power and speed, and combined with inattentive drivers in big powerful trucks, can put a rider in a very risky situation. Keeping the injured kiddo in our thoughts, and we will keep an eye on this situation, hopefully, finding out more about the circumstances of the crash.

🚨 Serious E-Bike Accident

Willowfork firefighters responded this evening to a accident involving a child who was struck by a vehicle while riding an e-bike on the roadway.

The child was seriously injured and was transported by medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital for further treatment.

We ask everyone to keep this young child and their family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

This incident is also a reminder of the importance of bicycle safety. Please wear a properly fitted helmet every time you ride, and parents—please talk with your children about staying safe around roadways and traffic.

Please slow down, stay alert, and watch carefully for bicyclists and other vulnerable road users. 🙏
