2022 Team Transformation Challenge!
We are super excited to tell you about our next "Transformation Contest" that will be kicking off on January 3rd 2022! Here is the most important thing for you to know: Trevor Brown and Dakota Lietka have been writing nutrition plans for a combined two decades. In the last three years, we have helped over 200 people lose over 3,000 pounds of fat! In the two programs below, 22 people lost 250 pounds of fat and 20 people lost 240 pounds in 12 weeks and 8 weeks, respectively. We have all the data showing the results. We have never had anyone not lose body fat. What we do works. It is a combination of good habits, proper planning, motivation, fun and accountability that makes it successful. Of course, you will get out what you put in. However, if you listen, you will reach your goals. Here is a little background about the last two transformations that we have done:
1. CHI Health "Test Pilot Group" - 12 weeks in the summer of this year. This was our first time structuring this in a complete hands-on package. We launched this program with 22 participants and the results were incredible! The idea was to completely transform the lives of the people involved and help them "develop healthy habits that last a lifetime." Overall, the 22 people lost a total of 250 pounds of FAT and almost everyone gained, or maintained, their skeletal muscle mass. Maintaining muscle mass is crucial to ensure proper nutrition and no crash diets. We set up nutrition plans for each person involved and they had the option of working out at our gym or at the Good Sam Wellness Center. There were all kinds of other little perks like free massages, chiropractor services, personal training, and more. The biggest thing was simply holding people accountable. We created a private Facebook group for the participants where they were bombarded (in a really positive way) with nutrition tips and motivation on a daily basis. This was also a way for all the participants to communicate with each other and talk about their progress. There were no prizes for losing the most fat with this group. It was all about developing habits. The Kearney Hub, CrossFit, the Morning Chalk Up, and other media outlets have ran stories about this program.
2. "Fall Transformation Contest" - 8 weeks in the fall of this year. It actually just wrapped up in November. This time we offered up the same services as in our Test Pilot Group to those who wanted to pay $500 for a "Platinum Package" and then anyone could simply pay $50 to participate. Those participants who paid the $50 could buy a gym membership or pay for nutrition services separately if they chose to do so. We had 65 people participate. Of the 65 who signed up, just over 20 came in to scan at the very end. Of those 20, we did nutrition planning for 15 of them and and 7 of our 8 Platinum Package people finished in the top 10 (1 person had a situation in which she did not participate after the first week). Of the top 20, all but 2 were affiliated with our gym, or the Wellness Center, through nutrition planning or active members. We gave away a $1,000 prize to the person who lost the highest % of his/her own body fat. Going from 100 to 50 pounds of fat was the same as going from 40 to 20 pounds of fat. Both counted as a 50% fat loss. One of our members, Brooke Blaha, won the $1,000!
After seeing how both of these programs went, we have modified things for the 2022 Team Transformation Challenge. We figured out that people who had money invested were the ones who committed the fullest. Additionally, having us set up nutrition planning was a game changer for just about everyone. The details are below.
How to win:
Scan in at Kearney CrossFit on or after January 3rd to start. Scan on or before March 4th to finish. Teams and people will be judged on the following criteria:
1. Body fat lost: If you start at 30% body fat and finish at 20% = 33% lost
That's the equivalent as starting at 21% and finishing at 14% = 33%
That's also the equivalent of starting at 45% and finishing at 30% = 33%
That's also the same as starting at 12% and finishing at 8% = 33%
Our coaches have decades of experience, have worked with hundreds of nutrition clients, trained thousands of people and have cut to 6% body fat themselves. We can assure you that this is fair across the board.
2. Skeletal Muscle Mass: You get penalized for losing Skeletal Muscle Mass. For each pound of SMM lost over 1 (0-.9 is penalty free), you are docked 2% fat loss. So, if you lost 33% body fat, but also lost 5 pounds of muscle, you would only get credit for 23% fat lost. This is done to ensure healthy weight loss and no crash diets to simply lose weight in a severe caloric deficit.
3. Nutrition Tracking: You will get nutrition coaching throughout this contest. Track your food with our software to win. You will each be set up with a custom meal plan. The idea is to eat your macros as close to what we set up as possible. This is to ensure your success and provide you with accountability. Our coaches can see all of your meals that you log and this is how we help you. Prioritizing your nutrition will make all the difference in the world for you!
4. Attitude and Effort: We want you to have fun with this! Communicate with your teams, coaches, and friends. Make fun social media posts. Take pictures of your workouts and food. We will have a private Facebook group, so be active and let us know how you are doing! The more involved you are the better! This is the one area that is subjective.
COST: $500 ($2,000+ value)
$500 and limited to just 4 teams of 10 participants*. This is a $2,000 total value package plus the things you can't put a price on like losing body fat, improving health markers and developing healthy habits that last a lifetime!
*If you are already a gym member at Kearney CrossFit, your gym membership is taken out of the entry fee. If you are already a nutrition client, your nutrition membership is also taken out of the entry fee.
Teams are scored the same way, but everything is averaged across the board. It will be important for the entire team to stay involved!
