Today we met up with Steve Thorpe, who sponsors the NHGA Junior Golf Tour through the Steve and Marjorie Thorpe Family Foundation, to officially award Hunter Drew (Bretwood Golf Course - Keene, NH) the 2017 NHGA Junior Tour Scholarship. Hunter is a very deserving graduate of the NHGA Junior Tour who is currently attending the University of New England where he plans to earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Congratulations Hunter!

On Monday, the Keene High Golfing Blackbirds made the long trek across the state, to face the Astros of Pinkerton,and the host Blue Hawks of Exeter, for a three team match. The Blackbirds swept, to improve to 11-1 on the season, posting a 187 to Pinkertons 188 and Exeters 196. Ben Burdett was medalist with an even par 35, Jack Nadeau chipped in with a 1 over 36, and besting his personal best from last week was Carson O'Neil with a 2 over 37, next was Nick Royce with a 3 over 38, and rounding out the top 5 was Hannah Drew with a 6 over 41. Other scores for the Blackbirds were Nick Nadeau with 41, Tim Greenwood with 44, and in his first Varsity match, Justin Borden with a 49. The Golfing Blackbirds are next in action on Friday, where they will travel to Derry to face the hosting Astros of Pinkerton and the Purple Panthers of Nashua South.

Thursday's long trip across the State did not prove successful for the Keene High Golfing Blackbirds. Atkinson Country Club is a difficult track, and if you dont play it well it will hurt you. Keene came in second in a three team match, losing to host Timberlane, but besting the Broncos of Alvirne. The Owls of Timberlane posted a 211, the Blackbirds posted a 212 and Alvirne put up a 231. The top scorers for Keene were, Jack Nadeau with a 1 over 37, Ben Burdett with a 3 over 39, breaking into the scoring was Cam Round, in his second Varsity match with a 44, following with a pair of 46's were the Nicks, Nadeau and Royce. Other Blackbird scores were Carson O'Neil with a 47, Hannah Drew with a 49 and Tim Greenwood with a 50. The Golfing Blackbirds will be back in action on Tuesday the 5th, at home, when they play host to those Pesky Bull Dogs of Bedford and the Crimson Tide of Concord.
