Named after the unprecedented 7 time winner of the Boston Marathon (he ran it 33 times....after he was told he shouldnt run because he has a "bad" heart). The last time he won it, he was 41. Now also includes the DeMar Half Marathon. Different starting points, same finish. DeMar lived and taught in Keene, NH & this race is a tribute to him. The race ends at the spot on Keene State College's Appian Way which is very close to where he taught for many years. This is a mixture of rural back NH roads with the last mile covering some of Main St. in downtown Keene. While we are slightly biased, we are confident that this is one of the most scenic marathons you'll find in New England. It occurs just in the beginning of peak foliage here in SW NH. The course starts in Gilsum, NH (pop 811) at el 1100 ft & ends in Keene, NH @ el 450...ish. This is a USATF Certified Race and will follow all of the USATF's guidelines. The race will be limited, so please sign up soon on our website. The race is on Sunday, Sept 29th at 8am

Something for those running the marathon on Sunday. If you’re there early enough, there are some great deals from the village store on Main Street just down the road from the start line.

🏃‍♀️ Attention Clarence DeMar Marathon runners & support crews!

We’ll be opening with special morning hours this Sunday, 9/27, from 6:00–7:30 AM as the race gets underway right here on Main Street!

Stop in for hot coffee, cold drinks, breakfast sandwiches, and fresh pastries to fuel up before the race. ☕🥐

Good luck to all the runners—we’ll see you bright and early!

What?!?! We're only 4 weeks out from race weekend! How is your training coming? Are you registered yet? Marathon runners are likely looking at the last long run next weekend and then on to the taper. If you are already registered, we start sending weekly runner email blasts tomorrow with important logistical information for you. Time to start getting excited!
