Thank you to Bill Line for putting gongs up for our r***e range today. Apologize for the closure this morning as we know we needed to put the gongs back up.

Please note that the gongs will be coming down again for hunting season.

Please note that the range is open and gongs DID NOT get put up due to the rain. There may be another closure to try to put up the deer and moose at least.

Full range closure on Monday - September 7, 2026 to allow for the long range gongs to be repaired and reinstalled. Please note that gongs will be coming down again for hunting season.

Range will open when the volunteers have completed the work and come off the mountain.

Thank you everyone for the support of giving Ray Huffman the best send off. He will be missed. Ray was one of the first members that had a vision and followed it to the end. Ray my ole friend everyone will miss you Thank you to all of Ray’s family for allowing us to host this. The community support was awesome.

JUST A REMINDER The range will be closed on Friday - August 21, 2026 for the memorial reception for Ray Huffman. Range will reopen when the reception is over.

The ceremony for Ray will start at 1 pm at the worship center in Smelterville and the reception at the range will follow after that.

If you plan to attend the receptions, you may need to bring a chair. Let’s all get together and share the stories we have with his family.

It is with a very heavy heart to let everyone know that Ray Huffman has found his was to heaven. We will keep everyone informed of any funeral arrangements as we get them. Please keep his family in your prayers and heart.

Sorry for the short notice. The range will be closed in the morning tomorrow - August 6, 2026 and this is due to the fire restrictions - Stage 1 - the range will be removing the gongs beyond the 200 yd range. Also, as per our regular rules -

NO tracers
NO explosives
NO Tannerite
NO API Am******on

Due to high fire risk, we would like to ask all shooters to please not bring or shoot metal/steel targets at this time. We have mowed the area but would really like to stay safe. This is for the r***e range.
