Record a video of your player throwing out a ceremonial first pitch! This does not have to be done in a practice, game or even a team setting. We encourage your families to do it from home in a safe environment and upload it to the submission site by Friday, July 31.

Click here to upload!!.....https://baseball.youthsportsclinics.com/pitch/KENN238895

Be creative, have fun and do it safely. Here are some best practices for creating an awesome video:

1. Tell us your first name, city and state, and what you love about baseball

2. Be sure we can clearly see you throwing the ball (e.g., have someone film you from the front, side, or behind you). Here are some sample videos to provide inspiration:

a. Sample Video 1

b. Sample Video 2

c. Sample Video 3

3. Refrain from wearing any clothing with logos

4. Shoot horizontally

5. Avoid shooting into the sun

6. Make sure to not record on a windy day as we want to be able to hear you!

7. Video should be no longer than 15 seconds

8. Click the link in your email to upload your video

[07/10/20]   KN family,

The board of directors would like to provide you with some insight into our plan of action in returning to baseball, as well as our current funding levels. While the path of least resistance would be to cancel our season for the first time ever in league history, we have taken the much more difficult road of working toward a modified 2020 baseball season. Plans include, but are not limited to, playing into the Fall season. In order to make this happen we will have liability waivers issued from Cal Ripken baseball, and we are planning to implement strenuous sanitation methods in order to protect all of our members. We will absolutely follow all local health directives to the letter, and ultimately plan to begin on the day we are permitted.
We have been responding to members requests for refunds as quickly as possible, and we appreciate your patience. Generally speaking, opting to not play when the 2020 baseball season is allowed to begin does not justify a refund of registration fees, and we have NOT cancelled the season. In our preparations for opening day, prior to the stay home orders, we had purchased all three upper divisions jerseys. We had also resurfaced all three of our fields to improve the experience, and safety for all of our players. There are many annual fixed expenses such as water, power, and our lawn maintenance contract that also contributed to our current funding level.
The entire board of directors is actively working on contingency plans that get our league compliantly and safely back to playing the game that we all love. We will include a link to a financial breakdown of the year, and we will continue to answer information requests as efficiently as possible.

Sincerely,

Your KNYB board of directors

[06/12/20]   To our KNYB family,

The Kennewick National Youth Baseball board of directors met via Zoom conference on Friday evening. I would like to provide you with an update regarding our postponing of regular season for 2020.
We have been given guidelines from Cal Ripken officials that will help us once we are allowed to start league activities. We are working to procure sanitizing products on a large scale and plan to utilize these products to eliminate as much cross contamination as possible. We are planning to issue enough equipment to individual teams in order to prevent the sharing of equipment. End of game hand shakes will temporarily be suspended. Positioning of umpires is currently being discussed and developed, and personal protective gear will be made available to umpires. We are also researching options to broadcast games via web camera to our members that have health concerns and are unable to attend live games.
We cannot conduct formal KN practices or games until we reach "phase 3" of our local health officials current guidelines. I understand that these are difficult times for everyone, and I want to be available for discussion. I encourage our league members to contact me directly with any concerns about plans, and I will do my best to answer emails in a timely manner. Please email me directly at [email protected], and we will work through any situation together. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay KN PROUD!

Andy Mengelos
KNYB President

[05/01/20]   KN family, we would like to provide you with an update following our recent emergency board meeting.
Our hopes of starting games on May 11th are unrealistic with the official health restrictions in place. We are currently exploring alternative dates to officially kick off the 2020 season of baseball at KNYB. We are diligently working to develop methods that will limit unnecessary contact in an effort to ease our way into starting games up once restrictionsare lifted. Some of these methods will include not sharing equipment, providing multiple sets of catcher's gear, and working with umpires to limit in game contact. Our goal is to maintain the integrity of the game while also being proactive in our efforts to protect our community members.
We understand that this health crisis affects each family differently, and in no way are our efforts to get baseball started meant to minimize the seriousness of the situation. Our hope is to let this season bring us a sense of normalcy during this extremely trying time.
Thank you for your patience, stay healthy, and we will update again in two weeks. ⚾️

[05/01/20]   Update from Babe Ruth officials:

Babe Ruth League, Inc has always been deeply committed to providing all of our participants with the very best educational sports experience possible in a safe and enjoyable environment. We thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we navigate through these unparalleled times.

It is the goal of Babe Ruth League, Inc. to achieve a complete 2020 local league season so everyone can participate in the game they love. It remains our hope that once permission is granted by state and local health officials, we’ll return to our community fields and play as much baseball and softball as we can for the remainder of the 2020 year. We’ll be encouraging our commissioners to extend local league play into the summer and fall months in order to permit a full season for everyone.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, timelines are now flexible. Commissioners in your state will work with league presidents to discuss if and when district and state tournaments can take place.
Information regarding Regional Tournaments and World Series dates and locations will be forthcoming as we explore other opportunities and formats in the next several weeks once our leagues get back up and running.

Until we meet again on the diamond, we ask you to focus on the guidelines set by local, state and federal governments to make sure we all do our part to ensure the health, well-being and safety of our players, families, volunteers and fans.

Be sure to stay connected with Babe Ruth League through our email, social media and websites for the most up to date information.

Sincerely,

Steven Tellefsen
President/CEO
Babe Ruth League, Inc.

[04/30/20]   Kennewick National board of directors will have more information coming out for our members tomorrow. With today's announcement of Little League cancelling, we want to remind everyone that Little League and Babe Ruth are seperate entities. We are working closely with officials at Babe Ruth and it is our mutual goal to move forward in a safe manner once officials allow. Thank you

[04/11/20]   KNYB family,

First let us begin by saying how much we appreciate your patience as we navigate this difficult situation. We are currently creating a schedule that will allow for an opening day of May 11th, and we are developing new procedures that will assist us in keeping players and spectators healthy and safe while getting back to the game we love! More information to come, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

KNYB Board of Directors

[04/02/20]   KNYB would like to honor Dennis "D" Dale Click. D was a KNYB player that was tragically killed by a drunk driver in 1997. His memorial is in the outfield of field #1. April 1 is the 23rd anniversary of his tragic passing. Please dont drink and drive and always use good judgment.

We would also like to inform our members that tomorrows board meeting is being postponed to next Thursday April 9th to adhere to Governor Inslee's mandate. We as a board are working to setup a way to meet via teleconference. We appreciate your patience. We hope you and your families are staying safe during this trying time.

[03/29/20]   We wanted to send an update regarding Covid-19. Due to the stay home, stay safe order issued by Governor Inslee the league is required to suspend activities for at least 2 weeks. As like most things, we are in a wait and see situation. In the history of KNYB we have never cancelled a season, it is our intention to start as soon as restrictions are lifted. We, as a board, are working tirelessly to adhere to local and health directives, as well as actively planning ways to move ahead with the season once permitted. We hope everyone is safe and we appreciate your patience. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you,

KNYB Board of Directors

[03/15/20]   CORONA-19 Update-
