“The grass is always greener….”

David McLay Kidd’s front-9 is locked and growing in up here at River Ranch, 20 minutes from the Tri-Cities Airport in Washington. Glen Murry, the superintendent, is watering and mowing what will be fescue everywhere, except the Bentgrass greens.

The lower section of the property, the fifth tee thru the eighth green (slide 2) were the holes seeded about five weeks ago. Meanwhile, Kidd and crew are shaping their way thru the back-9.

The fourth green (slides 3,4,5 & 8) is a version of a Biarritz and will be a short par-3.

The sixth (slides 1,7 & 9) will be the other par-3 on the front.

The approach to the par-5 third (slide 10), will give you a lot of options, including slinging it out to the right and letting it ride that ridge all the way to the green.

So I just got my new irons from JP Golf. Now I have a golf purists dilemma, I hate iron covers. That being said, these are my bucket list set of irons. $$$$$$. As far as iron covers go, they're really nice. They're also very ergonomically correct. So, easy on, easy off, so not time consuming. What do you think? Use them or put them in a drawer.
