The Sports Night Family is mourning the loss of former MLB Umpire Bruce Froemming who was a celebrity guest at the 55th Annual Sports Night in 2008. He was a native of Wisconsin and a GREAT baseball storyteller who started and ended his professional umpiring career in Milwaukee. โพ๏ธ
โFroemming worked 5,163 MLB games, which is the third-most games by an MLB umpire, over 37 consecutive baseball seasons beginning in 1971. Among those games, he worked five World Series and was on the field for 11 no-hitters. Froemming was behind the plate for no-hitters by Milt Pappas (1972), Ed Halicki (1975), Nolan Ryan (1981) and Josรฉ Jimรฉnez (1999).โ

Congratulations to Aubrey Strelow from Bradford High School on being chosen by the Sports Night Selection Committee as the 2025 Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year!
Aubrey was selected to receive the Alan Ameche Award and the Turco-DeSimone Scholarship from an outstanding field of nominees. She follows in the footsteps of her sister Sydney, who won the award in 2019.
Aubrey is a two-sport athlete with six varsity letters (two in volleyball and four in softball). Her primary sport is softball, where she has excelled both offensively and defensively as a left-handed pitcher. The highlight of her playing career so far was winning the 2024 WIAA Division 1 State Championshipโthe first in team history.
She has hit over .400 in each of the last three seasons and has dominated from the pitcherโs circle. Aubrey has struck out over 400 batters to date, boasts an exceptionally low career ERA, and has held opponents to a batting average well below the Mendoza Line (under .200) throughout her high school career. Her pitching dominance was highlighted by a no-hitter during her senior season in which she recorded every out by strikeout.
Academically, Aubrey made the Honor Roll as a junior in 2024. She ranks in the top 5% of her class and will graduate Magna Cum Laude with an honors diploma. Her cumulative unweighted GPA is 3.64, and she is a National Honor Society member and Link Crew Leader.
Aubrey will attend Central Michigan University, where she plans to major in Exercise Science with a minor in Kinesiology. Her goal is to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy. She has also earned a softball scholarship and looks forward to competing at the collegiate level.

In 2016 Gavin Lux was the recipient of the Alan Ameche Award for Outstanding Male High School Athlete of the Year at the 63rd Annual Sports Night at Holy Rosary. TODAY HEโS A WORLD CHAMPION!! Congratulations to Kenoshaโs own Gavin Lux and the Los Angeles Dodgers on their 2024 MLB World Series Championship; the 8th in team history!! All of Kenosha and the Kenosha Sports Night family is extremely proud of you!
Kenosha native Gavin Lux and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York Yankees 7-6 on Wednesday to win the MLB World Series four games to one.
The Dodgers were trailing 5-0 before they scored five runs in the fifth inning. New York retook the lead in the sixth inning, but two sacrifice flies by Los Angeles in the top of the eighth (one of which was from Lux) put the Dodgers ahead for good.
Lux attended Indian Trail High School and Academy in Kenosha, Wisconsin and was named the 2016 Wisconsin baseball Gatorade Player of the Year. He was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft with the 20th pick overall selection. Lux made his major-league debut in 2019 and became the youngest Dodgers player to hit a postseason home run that year at 21 years old. He was also part of the Dodgersโ active roster during their 2020 championship season.
