The shop has been so busy that there just hasn’t been much time to post! Here are some recently completed watch projects!

Finishing up some summer projects! This 1890s Ingraham was returned to factory specs and had a period correct movement installed. Previously, someone had removed the original movement, gong, and hands. A movement was tracked down (these used a very specific Ingraham rear mounted movement), it was restored, and installed along with an original gong and period correct hands.

This was a very special restoration that was completed a few weeks ago of a family heirloom clock. This is an early 1900s Ansonia statue clock, which uses a very high end open escapement movement. Ansonia was an American manufacturer that was hoping to compete with the far more expensive French imported clocks of the time. This one came to the shop in MANY pieces, with a broken mainspring in the movement. After a thorough movement restoration, a lot of cleaning (all original finishes were restored and left intact), and a lot of time, this clock went home running perfectly!

Check out the before/after photos of the restoration of this amazing tabletop cuckoo clock! This clock likely dates to the early 1900s and features some really intricate carvings, but was let somewhat neglected over the years. After a movement restoration and extreme case cleaning, it looks better than it has in years and runs flawlessly!

Here is a little before and after restoration of a very good looking New Haven clock, likely from around 1900-1910. This has an alarm in the case, as well, which is tripped by the center wheel in the middle of the dial and can be set to go off at a desired time. It cleaned up great and is running accurately. This clock will soon be for sale!

Things in the shop are going cuckoo lately! All of these cuckoo clocks, of various ages and in various conditions, are in for repairs. Yes, I do service cuckoo clocks. Sometimes, they can really be a challenge and many shops do not work on these. But if your cuckoo clock is in need of repair, I will gladly have a look at it!
