Kerman Youth Football

The Kerman Youth Football Awards Banquet will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 3:00 pm. The awards ceremony will be held at the Kerman Community Center located on Kearney Avenue. During the awards ceremony we will be honoring the teams which recently competed in the Tri-County League: Mighty-Mites, P*e Wee, Junior, and Senior Teams. We will also be awarding Scholar Athlete medals to those athletes who participated in Kerman Youth Football and earned a 3.0 grade point average or higher at the end of the 1st Quarter Grading Period. Those students in grades 1st to 6th will receive a medal if they do not have any C's, D’s or F’s for the 1st Quarter Grading Period.
Players may choose to wear their Game Jersey.
The Kerman Youth Football Cheer Awards Banquet will be held on the same day following the football awards. The Cheer Awards will start at 5:30 pm.

All three Kerman teams are in the hunt. Game times at County Line Stadium are 1,3 and 5.

Our very own Mighty Mite head coach and KYF President, Efrain Guizar will be Honorary Captain Thursday, September 1st, 7:30pm for the Fresno State Football home opener vs. Cal Poly. Tune in on A.M. 1340 radio at 5:30 pm, his former head coach at Fresno State, Pat Hill, and Paul Loeffler will be interviewing him.

Thank you Kerman High Football head coach Jenkins for having us tonight for the team dinner. Dinner was sponsored by Kerman Rotary Club and KHS Quarterback Club. Special thank you to KHS ROP Culinary Arts teacher Michelle Garewal for the food preparations.

We have a busy second week of KYF activities planned for this week.

Individual team practice schedules will be sent out today via the remind app.

On Thursday, all 4 teams will be having team dinner with the High School Team at Kerman High School. Time to be determined.

And

On Friday, Lion Mania will be held at Kerman High School with team and player introductions between the varsity and JV game.

Players will be given a ticket for entry along with wearing their jersey.

Hello KYF parents and supporters. Players will be selling raffle tickets to cover the cost of uniforms. $10 per ticket. 1st Place will be a custom-made one-of-a-kind wine barrel ice chest, 2nd place is a 50' Vizio TV, 3rd place is an iPad mini and 4th place is a Lions stadium chair.

Drawing will be at the 2nd home game scheduled for Saturday, September 3, 2022, during halftime of the Senior game.

Coach Guizar will be passing out tickets tonight at practice for PW, JR, and SR teams. Mighty Mites will get tickets Wednesday night at practice.

"Carnivals are all tomorrow. Dos Palos, Chowchilla, Coalinga, and Washington are the sites.
If you are a parent of a player please ensure your child is there prior to their designated weigh in times and your child has their game jersey with them.
Reminder, no food or drinks (coaches only may bring in water or gatoraid for their team) may be brought in. Support the host site’s snack bar and other opportunities to raise money like they will yours. Clean up after yourself. Use the leave it better than you found it practice.
Most importantly, have fun supporting and cheering on your organization and favorite player!

Jerseys will be handed out Monday before practice:

Immediately after the player receives their jersey, their picture will be taken. We need the parents to retain the jersey after the picture is taken while the kids continue with practice.

This is the carnival schedule for next Saturday in Chowchilla. It’s important to be at the weigh in times 15 mins before the posted times.

Each coach will have more information throughout the week and check the remind app as well.

Kerman High School - LIONS FOOTBALL 2022 Hurry, shop closes 08/04/2022!

Players were issued game pants, shoulder pads, and helmets today. We ran late so some teams may have to make equipment adjustments tomorrow. No need to message or call the coaches, we are aware that some pads need straps and clips. We also will look at different sizes for pants, helmets and shoulder pads if necessary.

All 4 teams will practice with helmets, shoulder pads and shorts tomorrow. Shoulder pads should be worn with a practice jersey.

End of the First Week Report

*MM’s and PW’s have completed their final Roster Players who did not make the team have been notified.
*JR’s players who did not make the should be notified by Sunday
*Sr’s have completed their first round of cuts but still have one more round to complete by the end of the second week of practice.

*Practice will resume on Monday at normal time and will continue through Thursday.
*issuing of equipment will begin on Monday for all levels.
*There will not be practice on Friday night for all levels.

Practice/Try Outs starts this Monday and continues through Friday this week, July 25-29 from 6-8 pm at Rotary Park behind Kerman Floyd Elementary School

* Check in will begin at 5:00
* All players must be checked in prior to participating. There will be 4 tables set up for paperwork for each team level. If your missing paperwork, make sure to bring it tomorrow.
*All players must have a copy of their current physical to participate.
*all players must bring their own water. Water will not be provided.
* Cleats are not mandatory for tryouts, but recommended
* parents can watch the tryouts but do not park in the no parking areas along the frontage road at Rotary Park and do not park on the grass. You will be towed away.
