Witold's Runners Welcome to the Witold's Runners page Witold’s Runners (WIT) is one of oldest running clubs in the NY Area.

It was established in 1983 by nationally ranked and NYRR running icon Witold Bialokur who is the coach and its inspiration. For more than 40 years Witold’s Runners has been a competitive club! The 1980’s was the “Golden Age” for Witold’s Runners as there was a large membership with many truly great runners. Now over the last several years with a smaller and extremely dedicated group of men and women, the team has had many runners nominated and some have won NYRR age group "Runners of the Year" awards as well as many Annual Team awards. Members show up for every race prepared to compete thanks to the guidance and leadership of Witold and his coaches. Based in Queens, NY, Witold’s Runners call Forest Park home with its lush natural trails, and ¼ mile running track, it is the perfect setting to hone its skills with guided strength and interval training. Our members are from Kew Gardens, Forest Hills, Maspeth, Middle Village, Glendale and other surrounding neighborhoods. They come from many walks of life, nationalities, and ethnic backgrounds. As a close-knit group that not only trains and races together, they also relax at regular club gatherings at local restaurants.

The New Balance 5th Avenue Mile.
When doesn't it rain for this race???? 9 Teammates braved the wet conditions and conquered this iconic course! David led the team with an under 6 minute pace! Followed by Diana and Victor only 11 seconds apart. Victor had an excellent age grade %! Remco and Lindsey looked like they ran this together, posting the exact time of 7:47! Alan was happy with his result which was 25 seconds faster than last year. The Lebron sisters(Pamela and Crisne) were only 5 seconds apart and achieved a great time. Neal of course skipped to the finish and also was happy with his time. Below are the results and some action photos taken by Marathon Foto,

I can give a shout out to each runner but everyone did an amazing job!! It was our first Team Championship race without Coach Witold! We still proudly carry his name in our thoughts and on our chests when we race! I know he would of been proud of all of us.

We couldn't ask for better weather for this year's Citizens Bank Queens 10K! Sunny with no humidity. We fielded 13 runners who completed the twisty turning race. Starting with our leader Marek who managed a great time despite falling on the course's uneven surfaces, followed by Andrzej (placing in the top 10 age group))and Marcos who were only seconds apart. David, who doesn't race often, still put in a solid effort. Karen (this was her third-fastest 10K) and Diana were only 2 seconds apart in their pace times. Sue was right behind them!!! Sarah broke the 1 hour threshold and had a great 68.18 Age grade performance! Alan is inching back to a respectable time and had a negative split race. The sisters, Pam and Crisne ran together and finished at the exact same time! Finally, Neal and Ed who didn't run together also finished in the same exact time!! Wild!!! This is Ed's last race before he moves to Florida. We will miss his spirit and energy!!!

A very special shout out to Bob and Rudi as they came out to warm up and cheer for us during the race. They both showed some great team spirit!!

After the race we walked over to the Empanada Cafe in Corona and had some wonderful empanadas after the race!!!
