AIMS Fitness LLC

AIMS Fitness LLC Hello! I'm Jen. I specialize in working w/the older adult & those w/Parkinson's. I love what I do! All classes can be modified for each fitness levels. S.A.S.S.

Movement in proper form is more important than the ability to do every move. Everyone has different abilities. FLOW is a 45 minute stretching class. Basic athletic stretches and Yoga stretches are used to help keep our bodies moving. As we stretch, we are providing that “oil” needed to keep us moving as we age. is a 45 minute class. It stands for Strength, Abs, Stability, Stretching. During this class we use hand weights and a stability ball. The strength portion of the class is a full body routine. The added bonus to this class is working on stability. Each class starts and ends with a stretching segment. AIMS Cardio Kickboxing is a 45 minute class. It is full of punching, kicking and jabbing your way thru class. We use movements of various styles of martial arts as well as classic group aerobic and dance. AIMS Drum Fitness is 45 minute class of cardio fun with using stability balls as our drums. With drumsticks in hand, you will go thru a variety of drum and cardio moves to get that heart rate up while having fun. We increase the fun with participants interacting (partner work) and doing some fun brain games. Kick Kamp is a 30 minute class that is the perfect kickboxing and bootcamp fusion, alternating between kickboxing drills, total body exercises, and core strengthening movements.

Happy Birthday AIMS Fitness!!!🎉
Twelve years ago today, I created AIMS Fitness LLC. Up until then I was a sole proprietor doing fitness more as a side hustle/hobby. 12 years of putting my heart and soul into creating a successful small business is a lot of hard work. I have zero regrets. We have morphed in the look of services provided, but we have never changed our mission of providing health, happiness, quality of life thru movement. We have created not just a business but a community that is based in our name:
A-ccountability
I-nspiration
M-otivation
S-upport
For a small business we celebrate milestones like making it to your 1st year; then making it to 5th year is big; then you reach double digit in your 10th year which is superb. I’m grateful for every year we celebrate!☺️
If I had the chance to sit down with a new business owner or someone thinking about starting a business, what advice would I give them?
🩷Be yourself-don’t pretend to be someone you’re not….authenticity is a valuable trait. Also, you are not chocolate-you will not be the right person for everyone and that is OK!
🩵Be ready to wear a lot of hats…many at the same time and don’t be afraid to ask for help…you can’t possibly know everything.
💚Mistakes are going to happen. Make them AND learn from them quickly.
🩷Find yourself a good business coach and a mentor in your field …they are a great investment in yourself and you are worth it!
🩵Don’t reinvent the wheel for some things…use the tools that already exist.
💚Not all your ideas are great ideas.
🩷Find a handful of people you trust to give you straight answers that you can use as your sounding board. These people should have different business perspectives and must be able to tell you when your idea sucks or be able to see things logically when all you see is it emotionally.
🩵Set boundaries between your business and personal life.
💚You don’t have to have it all figured out to start.
🩷Remember that your current customers are the most important ones. The relationships you build are the foundation and building blocks of a great business.
🩵Hold on tight and enjoy the crazy ride that is small business ownership…ups, downs and in betweens are all going to happen-sometimes in the same day. Remain flexible, adaptable and ready to pick yourself up when you get knocked down!
💚Be grateful-ALWAYS!

Thank you to those that have supported AIMS Fitness in some form over the past 12 years; without it, these milestones don’t happen!

I find it important to connect with the AIMS family outside of class/session times. I like to host 2 parties a year to bring the AIMS family all together without involving a workout; a summer party and a holiday/end-of-the-year/beginning-of-the-year party. Today I held the AIMS Summer party at the studio/gym.

This is the first event in the new space since our incredible, overwhelming, successful grand opening open house. If you were there, you know how nuts it was...I still have not wrapped my head around that day! That was just over 6 months ago...time flies when you're having fun! I never got to sharing pictures so I have some attached to this post.

Back to today's event. There is something about the uniqueness of AIMS and the AIMS family; it feels like home when we are all together. Like it is just one giant family...it doesn't matter what class you attend or if you have been with me for a decade plus or just a few days. Today as participants came in with their dish for the potluck style meal, there were smiles and laughter. There was an overall feeling of togetherness. There was not pomp and circumstance; it was me being my normal self that these people see every day...literally the only difference is I was in street clothes rather than gym clothes. There were many conversations, none of which depended on me being the common bond. When we have these moments together, I make sure to take a moment and just watch our community in action...is it such an amazing thing to witness and words certainly do not explain it well at all.

I am VERY thankful for ALL of them (those in attendance and those who couldn't make it). I am honored to be their coach. That is what I expressed to them all before releasing them to the food (which there was plenty of and it was all delicious). March 2nd we held our first classes in the new space...in the short 6 months since we have added 17 people to the AIMS family; we are now 80 strong which does not include our class volunteers and corner people. I am grateful!☺️

To my AIMS family, I love you all! ❤

I didn't realize I was holding my breath. Today I had my first mammogram since cancer was removed from my body this past January. It has been on the calendar for a loooong time and after being diagnosed two times, no appointment is a normal/don't worry about it type appointment. I was nervous about today's appointment…what would the results be. My body is still healing and mammograms are not the most comfortable thing as it is. I got results before they even let me change back into my clothes.

The message from my surgeon:

No suspicious findings = no cancer = the best news ever = I finally could breathe!

Thank you to the AIMS family for all the support thru this last diagnosis; patience thru the appointments that interrupt schedules; and me maybe not being on tip of my game always.❤️

Volunteers are a critical part of running a program for people living with Parkinson’s Disease. Volunteers are my extra sets of eyes, helpful hands and part of the banter that brings laughter to the gym.
Volunteering is such an amazing gift. Time is the most precious thing we have and I’m so grateful of those that give of it generously.
If you have wonder how you can help and impact people living with PD, please consider volunteering for our program. No experience necessary.
Thank you to our current volunteers!!!❤️

My attitude is gratitude…has been for a long time and I have experienced the benefits from it. Today as we did our “bring it in” at the end of Rock Steady class, I felt a huge wave of gratitude hit my heart.☺️ There we were…standing together 4 people deep…hands piled in the middle of circle and others with hand on a shoulder…15 fighters strong and 6 volunteers who give so generously of their time…every one with one common goal-keep Parkinson’s Disease at bay. 🥊💪🏻😊💪🏻🥊 Even better I know at some point during the hour we spent together everyone either laughed or smiled or both.😁🤣😆😂 I’m grateful for it all!❤️

Do you ever ponder what your coach does after your class finishes? 🤔If she just sits in her office and eats bon-bons? 😂Or take a nap? 😴Or forget who you are immediately?💭What does she do in the hours she is not teaching my class? 🤔

The answers are:
*No, I am lucky to eat lunch!🍽️
*No, but most days I could use one!🥱
*Absolutely not! You are my extended family member!❤️
*She does not sit much! I coach 18 classes a week and 5 one-on-one clients. I have limited time between clients & classes and the setup needs to be ready for the next group coming in. On average, I change the layout of the gym 4 times in a day to accommodate the next class or client. I am in the studio Monday thru Friday. Three times a week I arrive at 7am and leave at 5-6pm and two times a week I arrive by 7:30am and leave 6-7pm. I'm lucky if I sit down at my desk for a total of 2 hours a day.

Although I would love more hours in the day to be able to wear all the hats a solo small business owner wears and get more accomplished, but I enjoy my days being with my AIMS family.☺️

Last Thursday I had got the opportunity to speak at the West Bend Parkinson Support Group. It was a great group of 30+ people. I talked for over an hour explaining our program for those living with Parkinson's Disease. It was great letting them know of another resource for them.
I am very passionate about what I get to do and to share information that can help a person. A few of the top things I like to address when I get a chance to speak:
1. No, we do not hit each other!
2. It does not matter how long you have had PD, we would love to have you as part of our family.
3. It does not matter if you need a walking device...canes, walkers, and wheelchairs are all welcome.
4. Any fitness level is welcome - everything exercise can be modified.
5. You are not alone on this PD journey; we truly are a big family helping each other navigate a disease that none of you asked to have.

Thank you Beth for allowing me the time to speak. Thank you to all those who listened, asked questions and moved with me.❤️
