HIGH SURF ADVISORY - EAST FACING SHORES OF MAUI AND MOLOKAI: The National Weather Service has ISSUED a HIGH SURF ADVISORY for the EAST FACING SHORES OF MAUI AND MOLOKAI in effect until Thursday 06:00 pm.

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area, producing rip currents and localized beach erosion.

A moderate to large north northeast swell will produce hazardous surf along east facing shores of most islands from noon today through Thursday.

Surf height will reach 6 to 9 feet along east facing shores.

Forecast surf heights are estimates of the height of the face or front of waves.

IMPACTS: EXPECT STRONG BREAKING WAVES, SHORE BREAK, AND STRONG LONGSHORE AND RIP CURRENTS, MAKING SWIMMING DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: BEACHGOERS, SWIMMERS, AND SURFERS SHOULD HEED ALL ADVICE GIVEN BY OCEAN SAFETY OFFICIALS AND EXERCISE CAUTION.
