We want to share this quietly.
Some local food pantries are open this week in Killeen, Harker Heights, Nolanville, and Copperas Cove.
If your family needs extra help with food right now, these places are here to serve.
No shame. No questions asked.
Schedules and locations can change, so please call before you go.
The list is attached for reference.
If you do not need this, feel free to pass it to someone who might.
We care about our families.
We care about our community.

This is Coach Carlos Juice Zapata Jr. I hope everyone is staying warm and doing well.
As we get ready for our season, it is important that we stay on top of the logistics so we are fully prepared for these tournaments. Communication is critical. Parents, please do not depend on your athletes for information. Come to the meetings. Stay connected with your coaches and staff. We are all volunteers. We have lives too. We cannot babysit anyone, parents or athletes. No disrespect meant. We all have to meet each other in the middle so this works the right way for our kids.
With that said, I would like to introduce the newest member of our coaching staff, Jamarion Haynes . He is a college student now, but I remember him back in the day as an eighth grader who always wanted to play with older guys. Guess what. He did it. He kept that grit and built a solid reputation that he still carries today. He will be working alongside me to help develop the next generation of student athletes.
If you know of any resources or opportunities for him to play basketball closer to Texas, please keep him in your prayers and reach out to him. If I had a million dollars, one dollar and ninety nine cents would go into his GoFundMe because he is in debt with me. All jokes aside, I am glad to have a Killeen native and recent graduate on the team helping lead the next group of young men.
Love you, kid. It is a blessing to work together this time on the bench.

Good afternoon, Warrior family,
As we move into the holiday season, I just want to pause and say how grateful we are for each of you. If you’re traveling, we pray for safe journeys, peaceful roads, and joyful reunions. If you’re staying close to home and have a little extra time, there are opportunities everywhere to serve and make a difference. Even the smallest act of kindness can leave a lasting impact.
Parents, thank you for continuing to pour into your athletes. Encourage them to stay active, keep their bodies moving, and remember to drink plenty of water. These habits matter, on and off the court, and they build discipline that lasts far beyond the game.
This season is about family, gratitude, and growing together. We’re proud of the young leaders you’re helping shape, and we’re thankful to walk this journey with you.

Good morning, Warrior Family.
It was great seeing everyone back in the gym. Energy was strong, effort was real, and it meant a lot to see so many families show up for our first tryout session. Thank you to everyone who made the time.
As we prepare for Session Two on January 11, 2026, parents please mark your calendars and plan to be present. We are volunteer coaches, and the only way we truly understand your athlete’s needs is through consistent communication during tryouts and practices. It would not be fair to your child, or to you, if we tried to coach without working together both on and off the court.
If your child is not currently playing school ball due to grades or skill gaps, this is not a setback. It is an opportunity. And it starts with us as parents.
Yes, we might feel a little “seasoned” 😄, but a simple walk with your child while they dribble a basketball does more than you think. It regulates emotions, builds connection, and shows support. Going to the gym with them, even if you are on the treadmill while they work, sends a clear message: effort is the standard. If I am pushing myself, you should too.
We also encourage watching championship basketball, whether current games or classic matchups. Why? Because championships are the goal. Watching the best sharpens the mind. It shifts how athletes see the game, preparation, and discipline. Champions leave clues.
Conditioning matters.
If possible, athletes should be running 2–3 miles per week to stay ready. If running is not an option, hop on a stationary bike for 30–45 minutes at level 10, about 3–4 times per week.
For strength and conditioning, feel free to connect with Carlos Juice Zapata Jr. TruFit has become his second home, and he is always willing to help guide athletes the right way.
This journey is about growth, accountability, and building leaders, not just basketball players. When parents and athletes move together, progress follows.
Let’s keep building.

As we step into tryout weekend, I want every parent to take a breath and make sure this is the right home for your child.
Our program isn’t just basketball. It’s commitment. It’s character. It’s leadership.
Our staff shows up to develop skills on the court, but just as importantly, the habits, discipline, and confidence that carry into life.
Before we begin, this is a good moment to talk with your child about what it means to be part of something bigger than a season.
Here, we build leaders. We expect effort, respect, and growth. We teach them to work hard even when it’s not easy, to honor their teammates, and to represent their family well.
If these are the values you want for your child, and if you’re ready to commit to the journey with us, then you’re in the right place.
We’re excited to pour into our athletes and walk with parents who share the same goals, belief, and vision.
Let’s build something strong together this season.
