Day 2 of Horsemanship 101 Summer Camp focused on understanding the horse before climbing into the saddle. Students learned the major body parts of the horse and why each area is important for movement, comfort, health, and riding.
After the classroom portion, students put their knowledge into action by leading horses on the ground. Learning to safely walk and handle a horse helps build confidence, communication skills, and respect between horse and handler.
The day finished with riding lessons where students practiced applying the skills they learned earlier. Understanding how a horse moves and responds helps riders become safer, more effective partners.
At Kingman’s Healing Hooves, we believe great riders start by understanding the horse first.

Students learn horse safety, horse behavior, horse anatomy, tack identification, grooming, basic horse care, leadership skills, teamwork, and riding fundamentals.
Students work directly with lesson horses while building confidence, responsibility, communication skills, and horsemanship knowledge. Every day combines education, hands on learning, and riding instruction in a fun and supportive environment.
