Art’s Old Codgers will be shooting trap and s***t starting at 8:30a and running till around lunchtime

Saturday 9/19
Cherokee will host the trophy shoot. Sign ups start at 9a. A meal is provided.

Sunday 9/20
Unaka will have five stand starting at 1:30pm

Registration is now open for LADIES DAY 2026. We are limiting it to 75 ladies so share and get your registration in as soon as possible. We currently have over 40 ladies registered.

It’s a FUN DAY where you’ll get a chance to shoot Trap/S***t, various .22 rifles and pistols, .380 and 9mm handguns, AR-15s and Archery. The club supplies ALL of the guns, ammo, and bows & arrows and certified instructors and coaches. It’s a great way to learn about the different shooting sports.

The cost is only $20. Lunch will be served, there will be door prizes, and everyone gets a Goody Bag. Invite your friends to join you.

Silhouette tshirt order has finally arrived!!! For those who ordered shirts, they will be available for pickup at the remaining silhouette matches in September and October.

The club has received a new shipment of 12 gauge Rio shotshells. We have 1150 and 1200 fps available. $85 a flat.

Howdy

We have a club meeting this month. If you're pretty new to the club this is a great time to come see what all goes on with the different programs. Each program leader will give a little talk on what they are doing.

Tuesday 9/1
Practice on the hill. Trap and s***t fields will be open by 9a

Thursday 9/3
Cherokee Rod and Gun Club quarterly meeting. The meeting starts at 7pm , a meal is available. There will be a BOD meeting following the general club meeting. Come on out and get involved.

Friday 9/4
Art’s old codgers will be shooting trap and s***t on the hill starting at 9a and they usually run till around lunch.

Saturday 9/5
Kettlefoot will host the trophy shoot sign ups start at 9a
Unaka will have five stand starting at 10:30 am

Monday's Long Range and Long Gong Match Results

Here are this past Monday's Long Range Silhouette and Mini Long Gong (200 yard) match results. Congratulations to P.R.Williams with a great 40+8 to win the silhouette match and to Curtis Lipe to win our first Long Gong match. Also included are the yearly total Long Range match results with Freddie Williams in the lead but a few other contenders who could catch him. Wayne is right on his heels and 4 out of 5 of Wayne's top matches are with a pistol. Russ is also a contender with only 4 matches shot. By my ciphering, it's most likely Freddies to lose and he still has 2 matches to blow it, we will all be there to cheer you on Freddie! Thanks for all of the participation and help, see you back soon.

🔥 ETSS IRONMAN — WHAT A DAY! 🔥

The ETSS Ironman was a huge success today! We had 30 entries, with almost a perfect 50/50 split between youth and adults. We truly appreciate everyone who came out, supported us, and enjoyed the day with us. It wouldn’t be possible without you!

We also introduced a new game to Cherokee today. The official name is trademarked, so we called ours “Snooker.” And it was a HIT!

I’m sorry for everyone who missed out on it today — you’ll have to be there next time! Rodney will be setting it back up for his 5-Stand crew on Tuesday.

That brought us to the Snooker Championship bracket, where Evan Gray and Abby Towers battled it out for the title.

The shooting from both of them was absolutely incredible! They went back and forth until the end, with Evan coming out on top by just 3 points to become our first Snooker Champion!

Congratulations to all of our winners and to everyone who came out and made the ETSS Ironman such a great day!
