Good Advice :
“Always remember that the art is adaptable and personal, with each practitioner bringing their own body and mind to it. Train with many different people, stay curious, and never become rigid. But always stay grounded in the core principles and concepts taught by Grandmaster John Perkins. In that balance, the art stays true, dynamic, and alive.”
Something I need to remember and share

“The Self Defense Training Center Inc. provides the environment and structure where practitioners gather to study, practice, train, and share knowledge of Guided Chaos, honoring Grand Master John Perkins through continued practice and growth.”
“What I’m trying to emphasize in class is that our practice isn’t just about reacting to a single moment in time. It’s about staying soft, adapting continuously as the situation evolves, so you move fluidly in real time, not from a frozen snapshot, but from a dynamic response.”
When I was asked how I advanced in this art, I realized something over time. I received training and guidance from Grandmaster John Perkins, high-level practitioners, and my peers—but I also came to understand that the training itself was my instructor. I grew by trusting the process and seeking guidance when needed. I still follow that today.”
