Everyone talks about the supposed “advantages” of being the coach’s kid—the extra reps, the lineup spot, and having a parent holding the clipboard.

But few people talk about what it costs that child.

While other players look into the stands and see a dad who came just to watch them, the coach’s kid looks into the dugout and sees his dad belonging to everyone else. For those few hours, he has to share his hero with an entire team.

He watches his dad celebrate a teammate’s hit, encourage them after an error, and tell them how proud he is. But when it’s his turn, the praise may be quieter and the expectations higher—not because his dad loves him less, but because he’s afraid someone will call it favoritism.

So the coach’s kid learns to accept a small nod when what he really wants to hear is, “That’s my boy.”

He is often corrected first and congratulated last. He may work twice as hard, receive half the credit, and still hear adults suggest everything was handed to him. Every mistake is magnified, every opportunity questioned, and every success given an invisible asterisk by people who forget they’re talking about a child.

To every parent holding the lineup card: Don’t become so determined to prove you’re fair that your own child begins to feel forgotten.

When the game ends, put down the clipboard. Tell your child you saw their effort. Tell them you loved watching them play. Remind them that before they were ever one of your players, they were your child.

The season will end. The uniforms will be outgrown, and the dusty cleats will be packed away. But the way you made your child feel will remain.

The clipboard is temporary. Being their parent is forever.

Let’s cheer for every kid in the dirt—including the one who goes home with the coach.

To every coach’s kid: We see the pressure you carry, we see how hard you work, and we’re cheering for you, too. ❤️⚾️

Today is about so much more than tournaments, sunshine, and those long days at the field.

Because of the sacrifices of so many brave men and women…we get to sit in those bleachers… cheer loudly… travel from field to field… and make so many amazing memories watching our kiddos chase their dreams.

The freedom to spend our weekends at the ballpark with the people we love is something so many heroes helped protect.

Today we remember. Today we honor. Today we are forever grateful. ❤️🤍💙

Thank you to all who served and especially to those who gave everything for our freedom!

⚾️ LET’S RALLY FOR NIXON ⚾️

Baseball mamas… I think we can do something really special here. 💛

Meet Nixon from Texas. He just turned 13 and was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Nixon has started chemo treatments, and like so many of our ballplayers, baseball is a huge part of who he is.

Because he receives treatment through a port in his chest, he has to wear button-up shirts or gowns during chemo. His mom shared that baseball jerseys are basically his “second skin,” and he would love to wear jerseys during treatments to stay connected to the game he loves so much. So here’s what I would LOVE to see this community do…

⚾️ Let’s try to get Nixon a baseball jersey and/or hat from ALL 50 STATES. He is an adult small in fitted hats and wears a youth L/XL in jerseys.
Travel ball teams
Little League teams
Rec teams
High school teams
College teams
Custom jerseys
Extra hats sitting in your closet
Anything baseball.

If you want to send something, include:💛 Your player’s name💛 Team name💛 City & State💛 A short encouraging note
His mom said he loves hearing the stories behind the jerseys and telling his chemo friends about them. 🥹

If your player wants to connect with Nixon through gaming, messages, or encouragement, feel free to include that too.

Let’s show this young man that even though he can’t be on the field right now… the baseball community is still standing right beside him. ⚾️

Drop your STATE below if you want to help so we can see how many states we can cover for Nixon and we can send you his mailing address. If we have more than one from each state, that’s awesome too and pretty please share this post!!! 💕⚾️💕

We also have an Amazon wishlist for Nixon to help get him through Chemo if anyone would like to contribute this way as well. Here is that link https://amzn.to/4fAekws.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the baseball and softball moms out there. ❤️

Honestly, there’s just something special about sports moms. We live a life most people probably wouldn’t understand… the endless driving, the laundry that never ends, the weekends spent at the ballfield, the fast food dinners between games, the early mornings, the late nights, the worrying, the cheering, the praying, and somehow trying to hold everything together in between.

We spend years sitting in uncomfortable chairs and on bleachers in every kind of weather imaginable, watching our kids chase something they love. And even when we’re exhausted, broke, stressed, sunburned, frozen, overwhelmed, or running on no sleep… we’d still do it all over again for them.

What makes me emotional is knowing one day it all changes. The practices end. The tournaments slow down. The car rides get quieter. The cleats won’t be by the door forever.

And someday, we’d give anything just to get one more weekend at the field with our kids little again.

So today, I just hope every mom here realizes how important she is. Not because of wins or stats or scholarships… but because of the love, support, sacrifice, and safe place you’ve been for your athlete through all of it.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you. Truly. ❤️⚾
