Oom Yung Doe means Mind, Body, Way. Traditional Martial Arts (Moo Doe) is taught in every Oom Yung Doe School. The primary goal of traditional martial arts practice over centuries has been to attain longevity and maintain a superb quality of life by achieving harmony of the mind, body, and spirit. Moo Doe practice in one of the fastest ways to achieve complete balance of the body.

Congratulations to Assistant Regional Head Instructor Mackenzie on earning a Regional Level Silver Medal, with her demonstrations of Bagua Hyung, Sang Chung Sul (Double Sided Spear), and Pal Bek G*e (Eight Military Discipline Form). Each of these forms demands full body coordination, which Assistant Regional Head Instructor Mackenzie delivered. That ability to smoothly demonstrate the variety of principles required for this range of movement is what years of serious training produces. It is always amazing to see that level of dedication and investment in improving herself pay off. We look forward to seeing what she does next.

Congratulations to Assistant Head Instructor Rowin on earning a Regional Level Silver Medal demonstrating Pal Bek G*e (Eight Military Discipline Form), Kom (Chinese Broadsword), Kom Do (Samurai Sword), and Sang Doe (Double Straight Swords). Four forms, including three bladed weapons, requires focus and precision which Assistant Head Instructor Rowin demonstrated without sacrificing power or agility.

Congratulations to Head Instructor Justin on earning a Regional Level Silver Medal demonstrating Yong Du San Quan (Dragon Form), Ho Bar Toop (Tiger Form), and Kom Do (Samurai Sword). Each time he steps into the tournament ring, Head Instructor Justin demonstrates incredible dedication to improving himself through practice and this time was no exception. Head Instructor Justin showed great agility, power, and precision with each strike throughout all of his demonstrations and came very close to earning that elusive Regional Gold Medal. We look forward to seeing him achieve that goal soon.

Congratulations to Head Instructor Greg on earning a State Level Bronze Medal demonstrating Ho Bar Toop (Tiger Kung Fu Form), Kom Do (Samurai Sword), and Bagua Hyung. These three forms require different strengths, skill, and focus to bring out the key principles within each movement. Head Instructor Greg demonstrated how the discipline from a weapon like Kom Do can enhance the strength and explosiveness characterized by Ho Bar Toop. We look forward to seeing what new heights his focus and dedication to his practice will bring him to in the next tournament.

Congratulations Assistant Instructor Jayden on earning a State Level Silver Medal in the Spring Tournament. She demonstrate Sang Kom (Double Chinese Broadswords) Ha Yook Tang (Tunnel Form Kung Fu) and Doe (Straight Sword). Assistant Instructor Jayden showed strong agility, fluidity, and precision and keeps edging closer to getting all her forms up to Gold Medal standards every time she competes. We look forward to seeing her continue to grow and pursue her goals.

Congratulations to Assistant Regional Head Instructor James on earning a Regional Level Bronze Medal demonstrating Tang Nang Choyo (Ocean Form), Mae Hwa Kom (Chinese Broadsword), and Ho Bar Toop (Tiger Form). Each of these forms highlights a unique element of movement, from the connected fluidity of Tang Nan Choyo to the powerful upper body strength characterized by Ho Bar Toop, to the whole body connection in Mae Hwa Kom. Assistant Regional Head Instructor James moved through all of them with consistent strength, balance, and focus.

Congratulations to Alexis on earning a State Level Silver Medal in the Spring Tournament with his demonstrations of Pu Che (Fans) and Sang Sam Pyo Chung (Double Sai). Small weapons like the ones Alexis demonstrated are excellent development for self-defense and demand accuracy, timing, and full body coordination.

Congratulations to Ila on earning a Local Level Bronze Medal demonstrating Kata. As our youngest competitor and in her very first tournament, she demonstrated great composure and rhythm. It is clear that she has taken the principles of Kata to heart and worked on developing her timing and strength. We look forward to seeing her take her next steps on her martial arts training journey.
