Tatsuo Shimabuku (1908–1975) was a revolutionary Okinawan martial artist and the founder of Isshin-ryū ("One Heart Style") Karate. He is widely regarded as one of the most innovative masters of the 20th century because he dared to blend established traditional styles into a practical, modern system.
