📣 We Need Cheer Coach Volunteers! 📣

Hardin Valley Youth Sports Cheer is gearing up for an exciting new season, and we are looking for volunteer coaches to help lead our teams! Coaching is a fun and rewarding way to support our athletes, build confidence in our kids, and be part of an amazing community.

We are currently looking for coaches for the following teams:
• Kindergarten – 2 coaches needed
• 1st & 2nd Grade – 1-2 coaches needed
• 3rd Grade – Fully staffed
• 4th Grade – Fully Staffed
• 5th Grade – fully staffed

No previous coaching experience is required—just a positive attitude and a willingness to help our cheerleaders learn, grow, and have fun! 📣

Hardin Valley Youth Sports Cheerleading is excited to announce registration for the 2026 Cheer Season!

Registration is open to cheerleaders who will be in 1st–5th grade by August 2026 to correspond with the tackle football teams. The registration fee is $50 (will be paid after sign ups) and the uniform cost is $215.

We are also pleased to offer a Kindergarten cheer team this year as long as we have two volunteer coaches. This team will cheer for flag football rather than tackle football. Flag football games are typically earlier in the morning and shorter than tackle football games, making them a great introduction to cheer.

Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce myself as the new Cheer Commissioner for Hardin Valley Youth Sports Cheer! 📣

My name is Heather Alexander. I’m the proud mom of a 2nd grader, a Special Education Coach for Knox County Schools, and I also serve as a Service Unit Manager for Girl Scouts. Supporting kids, building confidence, and helping them grow in their activities has always been something I’m passionate about.

I’ve been involved with Hardin Valley Youth Sports for the past three years, and for two of those years I’ve had the opportunity to coach, which has been such a rewarding experience. I’m excited to step into this new role and continue supporting our athletes, families, and amazing coaches.

Good evening, I hope everyone is super excited to get the season started. It won’t be long now. Please continue to look for the form to open; teams will fill up quickly. As we finish getting ready, thank you for your patience. I did want to let everyone know I’ve decided to step down as cheer commissioner. It was a very hard decision, bittersweet for sure. Cheer has been a very important part of my life for the last 15 years and I will miss all my girls and their parents tremendously. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for some wonderful memories over the years. My heart is full and I will carry the faces of each of your daughters in my mind. But I’m super excited to announce Amanda Burton has been named the new HVYS Cheer commissioner. I’ve no doubt she will do an awesome job and there is some great things ahead for HVYS Cheer.
