The Lady Panthers and Panthers will attempt to bring home a first-ever team State Championship when they compete in the TSSAA State Championship Meet at the Percy Warner Park Steeplechase Course in Nashville on Saturday, November 3rd. Stone Memorial Cross-Country, coached by first-year coach, John Walker and seasoned Track and Cross-Country coach, Louie Delorenzo, would like to invite everyone to make the trip to Nashville to cheer on the Lady Panthers and Panthers in the State Meet.

The CCHS Jets will run in the AAA State Boys’ Meet at 1:45pm, followed by the Lady Panthers competing in the A-AA State Girls’ Meet at 2:30pm, and finishing with the Panthers competing in the A-AA State Boys’ race at 3:15pm. Come out and support 3 Crossville teams in the TSSAA State Championships on Saturday. Percy Warner Park is located at 2500 Old Hickory Blvd in Brentwood, TN.

Stone Memorial Lady Panthers are Region 2AA Champions
The Stone Memorial Lady Panther Cross-Country team won its first ever Regional Championship at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville on Thursday, October 25th. The Lady Panthers’ performance at the Region 2AA Championship race was strong enough to outpace a strong field including CAK (Christian Academy of Knoxville), Loudon, Alcoa, Gatlinburg-Pittman, Pigeon Forge, and other key Region 2AA schools to bring home the Champion’s hardware to Stone Memorial High School. The strength of this year’s team is depth from the 1st to the 6th runner, in fact, the first 6 SMHS runners finished in the Top 14 positions of the Regional Championship race, resulting in all of the Lady Panther’s first 6 runners being named to the All-Region team.

Caroline Pribanich and Kerigan Smith were named 1st-Team All Region with times of 21:39 and 21:49 respectively; Rachel Hutson, Tiffany Cokkinias, Emily Swafford, and Faith Van Ruden were awarded 2nd-Team All Region honors. posting times of 22:16, 22:44, 23:01, and 23:48 respectively. Stone was the only team to post 6 runners with times under 24 minutes on the 5,000 meter course (3.1 miles). The team average was 22:18 with an outstanding differential from the 1st to 5th runner of 1 minute, 22 seconds.

CROSSVILLE — The Stone Memorial cross country teams qualified for the Class A/AA state meet Nov. 3 by finishing in the top three at the region meet on Oct. 25 at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville.

The Lady Panthers won the region with 38 points, two better than Christian Academy of Knoxville (40) and 60 better than Loudon (98). All three teams qualify for the state meet.

The Panthers finished third with 98 points behind Gatlinburg-Pittman (64) and CAK (68). All three qualify for the state meet.

Bo Hamilton finished 13th to lead the Panthers and earned second team All-Region. Rounding out the times were Mario Martinez, 19:02; Sam Hagan, 19:37; John Mathis, 19:54; Ismael Matius, 20:09; Anthony Spencer, 20:17; and Justin Simmons, 20:22.

Caroline Pribanich'a fifth-place finish of 21:39 led the Lady Panthers. She was followed by Kerigan Smith, 21:49; Rachel Hutson, 22:16; Tiffany Cokkinias, 22:44; Emily Swafford, 23:01; Faith Van Ruden, 23:48; and Ali Livesay, 27:38. Six of the seven Lady Panthers finished in the top 15.

Pribanich and Smith were first-team All-Region, while Hutson, Cokkinias, Swafford and Van Ruden were all second-team All-Region.
